Kayak Tournament - fish finder or not
I fished a tourney at LaCrosse, WI last year where I had my fish finder on for practice then just took it off for tourney day. I didn't need it at all since I was fishing shallow the entire day. The only thing helpful it would give me at that point was water temp. There are very helpful but not always necessary.

Taking fish photos with my iPhone in the kayak?
I bought this for my phone on my kayak. I hate having mine in a pouch or anything else. This just attaches to my phone with my cover on it already. I clip the lanyard to my vest and I don't have to worry about it.

Stealing a pros spot during a tournament
Can't do what you love for a living without making money though. It's all part of it.

kayak - pvc hull protector
I try to avoid dragging mine on cement or rocks as much as possible. I always try to find a grass area to back up to and unload. If I must unload on cement then I put my C-Tug under it.

Basic guide to buying/using a fishing kayak
I was in the same situation when I started. My first kayak was the Pelican Catch 120 and I think it was a perfect starter kayak for me. It was cheap enough for me to still afford to add accessories and it was stable enough for me to stand and fish in. I learned a lot from fishing out of that kayak. I now have a NuCanoe Frontier 12 and it's amazing. I recommend Nucanoe products for their quality and customer support. I would try looking for a used Flint if one is available.

Soft Plastics Smell
I hear that a lot and it doesn't make much sense. It's also not recommended to use by the company that makes it and is illegal in some places since it's a petroleum product.

Stealing a pros spot during a tournament
We all have the right to ask someone that question. Whether we think it's extremely rude or not is a different story. I would never do it but if someone fishing a big tourney asked me politely I would be happy to help them out.

Stealing a pros spot during a tournament
Absolutely nothing wrong with politely asking someone to move if you're in a tourney. If they tell someone to move then I have a major issue with it. All it takes is a simple explanation as to why you'd like them to move and if they don't want to then just move along. Anyone that fishes in tourneys or watches them on TV should be understanding enough.

What's the best bass fishing lake around Shreveport?
For those of you who live in the area, how are the conditions lately? I know there's been some crappy weather. I'm heading down there two weeks from today and hoping the fish will be active.

School me on kayaks. Looking to buy one in the future.
If you're not in a big hurry you could wait until May 25th for the KBF Trail Series tourney on St. Clair. You'd have a great opportunity to see a wide variety of kayaks in use, ask a lot of people their opinions on them and possibly even demo some.

Why are kayaks a thing?
I don't see how kayak fishing is going wrong with this direction. They are giving people what they want. There are more options than there ever have before and that's good because now people can buy what fits their needs, not just buying what's available. There's nothing stopping anyone from fishing from a small kayak. Some prefer light, small and fast. Some prefer more space and stability. Some want to put a motor on it. The best think about kayaks is that there is something for everyone.

Show your ride...
It's extremely stable. Easy to get in and out of. Easy to stand and move around it. The seat has nice height and swivels around so you can sit with your legs off the side or turn around easy to access your gear. Very versatile and easy to customize.

storing kayak on scuppers
I've just left mine on saw horses and haven't noticed any issues.

How much for a basic kayak??
Does the minivan have a roof rack? If so you can haul it on there. I've done that with our minivan plenty of times. My recommendation is pretty much the same as everyone else's, find something used. Don't forget to look for any area kayak dealers because they might have some used or old stock for good prices.

How do boat fishermen really feel about kayak anglers?
This is the issue I think boaters have with kayaks, you don't get it. People have a tendency to not care or disrespect things they don't get. I'm not saying this is how you are but it is for a good amount. As for the hockey on the highway analogy, that's a poor example. The highway is not meant for everyone, it's meant for high speed traffic. Public waters are meant for everyone and that includes kayaks, canoes, skiers, tubers, swimmers and people who just want to float around.

I would like to talk about a tournament rule.
That’s why they’re not admissible by law. We’re all wired differently.

I would like to talk about a tournament rule.
I wouldn’t worry about it. I worry about taking a polygraph if I win as well because I have issues with anxiety. I like to compete too much to let it prevent me from doing it. I’ll deal with it if I ever get there.

I would like to talk about a tournament rule.
That's a really good point. I just got registered for the KBF National Championship and had to agree to this: Polygraph Examination Agreement* I agree, as a condition of participation, to submit to a Polygraph Examination upon request by the Tournament Director, whether randomly selected, for specific cause, or to validate ranking.

I would like to talk about a tournament rule.
I would say that you should bring that up to the directors of whatever tourneys you are fishing. If you win they should know what your situation is and take that into consideration. We all know that a polygraph test is not the end all be all solution but they can help. In a case like yours I would think they would need sufficient evidence to rule that you cheated in a tourney.

pfd vs flag - kayak question
My kayak is orange and I have a Chinook PFD that is also orange. I also have an orange flag with light that I usually only use when it's dark but will use on busy waters. I like to make sure I'm seen.

Z man soft plastic issues
Just heard a tip today that if you put them in the freezer for 30 minutes you can then dip them in bait dye and it will work without melting them.
