  1. I keep all of my plastics in their original bags regardless of what brand they are. It's easier to find what I want and keeps them all fresh.
  2. I had bass before and it was very good. I myself never keep bass but I also don't keep any fish to cook unless on a fishing trip where we fry them up for dinner. The only fish we keep for eating are bluegills, crappie, walleye, perch and pike. I don't like seeing anyone keep bass over 18 inches because I like to see those bass go back and reproduce. As long as it's withing state regulations then there really is nothing wrong with it.
  3. If it's sunny without wind then anything above 20 degrees is good for me.
  4. I've found that I catch more when I have a trailer on my spinner bait. I usually use a paddle tail.
  5. NuCanoe is fantastic and very stable. I recommend the 12 foot model but you're going to spend $1500. If the Frontier 10 is in good shape and is only $900 that's a pretty good deal.
  6. Is it the Frontier 10? I have the Catch 120 and a Frontier 12. The Frontier kayaks are far superior to the Catch kayaks. Don't get me wrong, the Pelican is a great kayak for the price but the Frontier or just NuCanoe in general is better. They have a nice open deck, they are much more stable and are easier to customize. If that is a Frontier 10 for only $900 then I wouldn't pass it up.
  7. That's your option but when you love to fish tourneys what other option do you have? What do you suggest these tourneys do to avoid cheating then? A polygraph is not perfect but it can certainly help prevent a lot of cheating. I know it's in the back of my head while fishing that if I win I'll have to take one, so I make sure I don't screw up.
  8. Common sense is not always all that common yet it should be a primary focus when on the water.
  9. I wonder if Strike King is paying Z-Man unless the patent is up but I'd think we'd be seeing a lot more if that were the case. I have a feeling they are going to sell a ton of them after Montgomery started talking about it and catching fish on it. He's catching them with it again this morning.
  10. I don't see anything happening. I was exaggerating a bit but I know I'd be very upset with Ike if I were the BPT.
  11. Find some kayak dealers in your area and see if they are marking down any old stock or some used models. Keep an eye out for sales. I bought my first kayak that was on sale for Father's Day, the Pelican Catch 120 for $599. I still recommend the Catch 120 if you can find one. I haven't used it but I know the Vibe SeaGhost is a favorite for many in the sub-$1000 area. If you can find one on sale that could be really good. The NuCanoe products are fantastic and the Flint is $999 new. If you can find it on sale or used I would definitely get that. I've seen mixed reviews on the Ascend kayaks. I know they can be a good starter for the price though. I don't know a whole lot about the Perception kayaks either.
  12. I didn't think the swearing was all that big of deal but talking trash about the league that's paying you is a bad idea. That's the kind of stuff that should be kept internal with the league.
  13. Chatterbait Lipless Crankbait Senko
  14. It would be cool to have the equivalent of what golf has for Majors. I think it's interesting how often I find similarities between the BPT and golf. I think Ike may be done with the BPT soon after what he just got done saying on air. Said he doesn't care if he makes the cut and that he can then spend more time with his family. Said the schedule is stupid. Yikes.
  15. If the weights kept carrying over then there would only be focus on a few anglers as the rest would be too far behind to catch up and I don't see the enjoyment in that. Not only that but it wouldn't be as fair since not all 80 are fishing in the same conditions each day. Starting the weights over when they move on to the next round keeps it an even playing field.
  16. Have you ever competed in anything that has a cutoff to make it to the next round? There's plenty to be excited about, especially when you get a fresh start in that next round.
  17. They have to keep catching fish. With this format it's not that hard for someone to have a monster day and move up. An angler could be in 10th place overall but only 2 pounds ahead of the cut so it wouldn't take much at all to get booted out. The entertainment for me with the elimination rounds is watching the battle for guys making the cut. The entire field is full of big names so it's a big deal watching the guys fighting to get in the top 20.
  18. I think starting at the very beginning is also a really long time to be live streaming. There's a ton of stuff that goes into producing a live event like that, especially that long.
  19. Make sure to fan out the bristles of the weed guard.
  20. I go fishing on a boat with others a few times a year by I'm a kayak fisherman. I'm usually a very self aware person so I'm constantly thinking about what I'm doing and if it bothers others. I prefer to launch along shorelines and if I have to use a ramp I wait till there are not many around and I try to do it was quickly as possible. Because of this I have very few issues with boaters. Most times I have them stop and ask me about my kayak and how the fishing is. I have had a few instances with other fishing boats though and it's usually with fishing spots. I feel like they think the have right to all spots because they're in a bigger boat. They'll fish close to me and even cut me off. It ticks me off but I just go around them or find a new spot. I think there's one thing we can all agree on though, none of us care for jet skis. They're the biggest nuisance on the water.
  21. Stages are the different events/tournaments. Stage 1 was at Kississimee and Stage 2 is going on right now at Lake Conroe. Each Stage is 6 days. The first 2 days are Shotgun rounds, the next two days are elimination rounds, the 5th day is the knockout round and the 6th day is the Championship round.
  22. That was an amazing buzzer beater for him. How frustrating would that be if you couldn't get it in the boat fast enough?
  23. The Red Eye Shad is my favorite as well. I do have a new one I'm going to try this year and it's from Berkley, I thinks it's called the Warpig.
