The latest sale thread
This may be the first winter that I don’t think I need anything for my kayak. It’s a strange feeling.

What do I need for winter kayaking?
Make sure you have an extra set of dry clothes with you in a dry bag or in your truck.

ARK has the buy 3 for $99 sale again on their Catalyzer series. I bought some last time and put another order today. We put in an order for 7 of them and it came out to $210 even, no tax or shipping. Hard to beat a deal like that. Anyone know of a good spinning reel sale right now?

2023 MN Season Thread
After a few days of fishing around Alexandria, the fishing has been very slow but the bass have been quality. Multiple over 4lbs and the biggest was 5.6lbs.

How are the water levels up there? Are they as low as Iowa right now?

2023 MN Season Thread
I'm heading to the Alexandria area next Saturday for a trip. Hoping the big bass are chewing.

Omnia is my favorite place to buy my tackle from now. I've been a premium member for two years now and it's by far the best deal I've seen. Being in Iowa I get my orders in a day or two and always have free freight with no minimum.

Mississippi River Recommendations?
You can fish just about anywhere and find bass up there. Whatever your favorite style of fishing is, you can make it work. You can fish for smallies where there is current and riprap. You can can smallies and largemouth in the grass with current. Head to the backwaters to fish laydowns and lilly pads for largemouth. I recommend going on YouTube and watching some of the past Bassmaster tourneys at La Crosse. You can learn a lot about where they fish and what they throw.

What is your sunscreen of choice.?
I hate sunscreen on me. I wear protective clothing and it feels a lot better.

Weight capacity of kayaks
The NuCanoe Frontier 12 and Unlimited are great for big guys. The Hobie PA series are great too but very expensive.

Bulk Tungsten Sinkers
I've bought from this place a few times. https://omfishingsinkers.com/

MLF Stage 1 Kissimmee
Looks like Wheeler is good regardless of the format. Weird.

If I had to live in another state I would probably choose WI. It's hard to beat.

Mississippi river
This was my favorite event to watch this year. I fish the La Crosse area a few times every year and I know the area pretty well. It's so cool seeing pros fish areas that I've been to. What's even better is that I'm going there in a couple weeks for a week long fishing trip. Should be great.

Why a Kayak?
Money is a factor but I would not be a good boat owner. It's too much hassle for me to own a boat. I don't care for any of the maintenance. I'll always be a kayak angler because it fits my needs perfectly.

My First Kayak Fishing Tournament
That's what kayak tournament fishing is all about. Decisions factor in so much more compared to a boat tournament. Every one you fish is a learning experience.

Omnia?
They are who I order from the most now. I paid the $29 membership to get free shipping so it makes it some much easier to place small orders whenever I want. I also get 10% back in credit to put towards more stuff. My stuff usually arrives within 3 days but that all depends on the delivery company, not them. Their customer service is fantastic too.

Basstrakk - what is it and what are it's limitations?
I thought I heard them say they pay out $1000 to the angle that is closest to his real weight. That gives anglers an incentive to try and give somewhat accurate weights for basstrakk.

Which would be better suited
NuCanoe. The reason I went with NuCanoe originally is was for it's open deck and great stability. It's an open canvas when it comes to customizing. I started by just paddling it then added a pedal drive. Now I have a bow mount trolling motor on it. I can switch between the three styles of propulsion depending on the body of water or tourney I'm fishing in easily. It's also cheaper than buying the high end kayaks that other brands have.

BPT - Stage One
All the BASS fanboys should be enjoy this tourney. It's been quality over quantity. Wheeler was averaging almost 5lbs a bass.

B.A.S.S Vs MLF
We're not the anglers in these series so why would that effect what we watch?
-
B.A.S.S Vs MLF
I like them both. I don't really understand why some treat it like a competition or like a hated sports rival. It's an opportunity for us to see more fishing content which I'm all for.
