I took advantage of the Omnia Fishing sale and got some Berkley Stunna jerkbaits and the new Berkley Gilly. Anyone have any experience with the Gilly yet?

It gets confusing. There's the Phoenix Bass Fishing League then the Toyota Series then the Pro Circuit and then finally the Bass Pro Tour. I think they're trying to set it up like a farm system for people to work their way up in the ranks.

Right now it's just for the Pro Circuit, which replaced FLW. KVD is in the Bass Pro Tour.

Usually a chatterbait but have been throwing more crankbaits lately.

I've fished with both and won't go back to the ones with split rings. I know they still work and catch fish but they are just not as good from my experience.

With the huge growth of kayak fishing I think lakes need to add better access for kayak loading and unloading. I prefer being out of the way of the regular boat ramp but sometimes it's my only option. We don't really need that much room, even the guys with kayak trailers. Make a truck width path down to the shore, away from the main ramp, and that's all most of us need. If the ramp is busy I back down, slide my kayak out of the back of my truck and then I slide it off to the side, out of the way. Then I go park my truck and unload my gear. It takes longer for me to do this but it frees up the ramp. When no one is around I will stay there and unload everything.

I use to use a garden stake and clip onto it using a fish grips that is tied to my kayak. Easy to detach when needed.

Grown men on jet skis are is sad. Nothing wrong with a guy fishing out of a kayak.

I will not buy a chatterbait that uses a split ring to connect the blade. They're not worth it.

When the water is froze over I go trout fishing.

Go on Facebook and join the KBF and KBN groups. You'll find all kinds of fellow kayak anglers that fish tourneys. If you're just getting started then I would look for a local club. If you're looking for national tourneys then KBF, BASS and Hobie are the top three.

I always have a Buck Old Timer in my pocket. It's small, inexpensive and good quality.

I added a trolling motor to my kayak last year and it is awesome. I went with the Motorguide Xi3 kayak model with GPS. If you're getting a motor then spend the extra cash for GPS. It's such a huge difference maker when fishing. Ignore anyone that says a motor takes away from fishing from a kayak. Do what you makes you happy and what helps you enjoy fishing.

I'm not sure if I've fished Thompson before but I know I have fished Whiskey and we had a lot of success. This will be my 8th year and we try to hit some new lakes every time so I've fished a good amount of them. We've been driving close to 40 minutes to get to some new lakes.
