40% off most St. Croix @ Reedssports....
I talked to Reeds today and they said it should be here today via Speedee...no rod although I was not home after 3pm so I am not sure of their delivery process. Either way I could not fish it for a while(3 inches of snow today) but am anxious to get what I paid for and see how nice it is compared to me Premiers.

New BC to go with my avid? Suggestions?
Revo SC, best value in the Revo lineup even at regular price.

kb and reeds st.croix rods
I am hoping I get mine :-/ I ordered Friday and am only one state away and got email confirmation but cannot find it in my receipts folder. I have faith in Reeds like RW said and I have never received constant quality service from any large retailed like Reeds. I had a $300 trailcam that showed up and would not take pictures...called them, no big deal sent a new one and did not even ask for the other one back. Now I am trying to find someone to fix the broken one, haha

Men and their toyz
Man that is a funny post and reminds me of my dad raising me...when mom was around he was a different person but when we were out fishing or playing sports he was the coolest dad ever. Either way my girlfriend and I have been discussing the kids situation and this is one post I have read that goes into the plus side of having kids

Ah, already ordered one Avid and trying not to get another 3 or 4. I should be sending that link out for Christmas presents but the hunting monkey has a strangle hold on the baitmonkey right now.

My Friend Brian's Mom passed away this AM
Muddy, My thoughts are with you as I am in the same situation, my grandma is just passing time until she passes. She was given 3-5 days to live 2 months ago and now it is coming to an end and my dad and aunts are taking shifts. Either way my thoughts are with you and all involved.

Birthday gift to myself.
Either use mono backing when putting on braid or put a piece of electrical tape over the knot and first wrap of line around the spool. Your line is slipping on the spool and braid will do that.

Keeping a bass as a pet?
It is just a fish, if you can feed it enough and have enough room then go for it. The reason you are getting bad responses is you are asking on a bass board...like said before it is just another fish. Although I do agree that you should not release it later.

SteveP and Avids stick marsh adventure
Good fish and great pics, so that is what Avid looks like in a real pic. Either way great job Avid and SteveP!

Talkin' about Jigs/Jiggin 101
You cannot fish it slow enough, and get a jig with rattles...from there it is all a learning process.

Fall Pond Fish
Got out this afternoon for the first time in a while(got the hunting bug) and conditions were tough from what I heard from Darrin(Hawghunter) and a few other guys. Decided to throw a jig long before I got to the pond. Paid off with 2 good fish and 1 other big bite that almost yanked the rod out of my hand. 3rd cast, I get a big thud, and fish on. She jumped and did a couple headshakes and spit the jig about 10 feet from me. 2 casts later, same spot I hooked the fish, I tied into a 6 lb 4 oz fish that went 23 inches. I was stoked as I have not been out much recently. I also caught a fish that was 3.5lbs or so but it was good to lay into a big girl again. The first pic is the 6-4.

Negativity at its highest peak in my life..
It could be worse, and be thankful it isn't. This past year has been the toughest of my 24 years here, and will be the most difficult period of my life I will ever go through, guaranteed. Having good friends and the ability to not bottle up feelings is the greatest aid you will have in getting through it. Tough times build maturity and mental strength, and after this past year I know I can handle anything that is thrown at me. Tough times also teach you to not sweat the little things and live life like its your last day here. Hope it works out.

Windy Day Bassin'
Great fish, way to tough it out! That fish is a great example of the old saying ' most 3lbers people say are 5 lbers'. That fish looks all of 5 lbs but many would call it a 6 or 7. Were you out on Muddy's lake?

My tribute to avid...

Braided Line Snapping - Help!!
Pond Hopper, do you feel that the larger diameter braid such as 40-50 lb. test is sensitive enough for jig fishing? Yep, is plenty sensitive and strong! But with braid you do not need the eye crossing hooksets alot are use to...although I dont always practice what I preach.

Braided Line Snapping - Help!!
On BC gear I would recommend 40-50 lb test, a palomar knot, and make sure you wet your knot when cinching down. The only time I have snapped my line is when it was frayed and I was too lazy to retie.

Braided Line Snapping - Help!!
What size line are you using?

10/01/07--Thanks Randall!
Nice fish Dan and it appears those fish feeders are paying off somewhat. I should of thought about a shaky head this weekend as it was terribly slow. Has your former boss ever considered stocking some small bluegill in the pond for forage?

Fishing with a Bass Rookie
Well Darrin(Hawghunter) and I got out this weekend with a buddy of ours named Mike hoping to put him on a new PB(4 lber). THe weather and pressure was terrible and Friday and Saturday were terribly slow. Surprisingly he was still happy with the catch and Sunday turned out to be a little hotter bite. No huge fish but alot of quality fish from 3-5 lbs. Here are a few pics and some of the pond we fished Sunday. By the way good company makes bad fishing so much easier...a positive attitude goes a long way

Did i get a bad Revo?
I agree with the rest of replies, I have had my SX-HS for almost 7 months and I picked it up today for the first time in 2 months and it was not dialed in. Eventually after getting the spool control set I had to turn it to 7 on the magnetic brake and it worked flawlessly. Before I had it set on 3 or 4 and it was over-running every cast.
