  1. I thought maybe Indiana Jones got upset RW stole his outfit and took it to Fork and in return hacked the system and banned him! ;D JK but the first thing I thought of when I saw the pics was Indie.

Agreed I think only one of my 4 rifles (rimfire or centerfire) have the gun worth more than the scope. Spend some good money on optics and you will not regret it.
  3. I'm 6'3" and my favorite length is 6'6" but Ive got a 6 footer for jerkbaits and Im getting a 7 foot rod for swimbaits and jigs. It is all preference and what feels comfortable.

If you are going to be target shooting get a 3-9X Leupold. You cant go wrong with those scopes. Better warranty than a Loomis even.
  5. 1 Revo S 1 Revo SX And for my bday the girlfriend has been told to get me a Revo STX. Oops wrong posse. Forget whatever I said.
  6. I had a spool a while ago back and it is PURE JUNK.
  7. Looks like a healthy 4-5 lber. One thing I have realized is the fish always look bigger under water but that doesnt take away from it being a nice fish and a hell of a picture.
  8. Abu Garica Revo S and a St. Croix Premier 6'6" MF. Or match the Revo up with a Bionic Blade although I have never used one have heard good things about them.
  9. Im having a heck of a time deciding between a custom casting rod from his and the Kistler MG. Its been a tough 2 weeks but it will get worse when I get that new Revo SX that doesnt have a rod for it.
  10. Nice fish and congratulations, I am hoping to be as fortunate as you this year with a new PB.
  11. Man those are a couple of beautiful fish, makes my spring fever worse. Watch out for the males though, Jurassic Park comes to mind.
  12. Boy did I miss the bus, was planning on a couple of scorpion 1000s and when I went to pull the trigger no more store. Hopefully his prices stay the same when he re-opens.
  13. There was someone that posted a place on here to get the Revo S for $90 but I cannot seem to find the thread and need to get my hands on one. Otherwise I will just end up paying full price but a deal is easier for me to handle mentally.
  14. Alot of rod companies will offer a similar sounding lifetime limited warranty on their higher end rods. but that means different things in different companies. Loomis will replace any rod for any reason at $50.00 plus shipping. If it's a defect they replace for free. The 50 bucks is the "idiot" part I spoke of, St. croix sent me a brand new tournament bass rod when I broke the reel seat from overtightening. Not a defect but yet another "idiot' move. It cost me $20.00 plus shipping. When I start hearing stories about guys closing thier truck doors on thier new $350.00 steez rod and Daiwa replaces it for 50. then we can talk. by the way, the reel is fabulous. I'm willing to take that risk! I won't turn down a date with a gorgeous woman because she may break my heart 8-). From what I hear with the Steez rod at least you will get a rod with plenty of backbone
  15. Like everyone said staying busy and chewing something helps the mental part. I use to chew with buddies when hunting or fishing, but anymore I dont see the point. Never was addicted because I would go weeks or months without it but I just did not see a point to doing it. Now I tend to chew gum alot or seeds or beef jerky when Im out fishing or hunting. I do have a nice cigar once in a while but that is once every month or so. Good luck.
  16. I picked some up too from his advice for my spinning reel and my girlfriends and seems to be a good choice from playing with it in the house. Although I dont plan on putting it on my baitcasters because I like braided line too much for that.
  17. I am kind of int he same situation, trying to buy my girlfriend something that isnt terrible but I dont want to spend alot of money on a spinning reel because I am trying to get her to convert to baitcasters by telling her I will buy her whatever reel she wants. She has a decent quantum reel now but her rod is terrible. I sat there one day watching her get a bite (rod tip bouncing fishing a t-rig) and she couldnt feel it. I dont know whether to just buy her a rod or get a decent combo until I can get her to switch to a baitcaster(she really likes the yellow pixy). I thought about the new pflueger MG but dont know that I want to spend that money on something that wont get used much, because I fish spinning tackle .25% of the time. I thought maybe a St. Croix Premiere Rod with a Sahara Reel?
  18. I was wondering if anyone knew of any other good cheap sources of Japanese tackle other than Ginrinpeche. Of course when I finally decide to pull the trigger on a Scorpion they are closed. I can wait but would like to get my hands on one ASAP or I am going to end up buying a Revo S. Thanks. Corey
  19. Specialist- spinners/buzzbaits, t-rigs, jerkbaits, and lipless cranks. Shallow specialist- alot of the water I fish isnt more than 8 ft in most areas. Run and gun- look at my signature, I have no patience and target the aggressive fish.
  20. Take a xmas tree, cut some holes in the branches to give the fish some places to hide, then put it in a 5 gallon bucket and fill the bucket with quickrete then take it out on the ice and leave it. Or just attach a cinder block to the base but the 5 gallon bucket keeps the tree upright most of the time.
  21. I would go to Reeds sporting goods website and the St. Croix ice fishing rods. High quality rod with a good price. And yes it is possible to bring in nice fish with a 2 ft rod. Medium power is a good all around power for ice fishing.
  22. I would be happy to just get one of those reels, yet 5 Congrats on the reels and the girlfriend Robert. Corey
  23. I love power pro and have found no reason to change. It is on all of my reels (even ice fishing) except for a spinning reel I just put Yozuri Hybrid Ultra Soft # 6 on (guess why). It is a great line.
  24. Muddy, Glad you like it and yes it was a very well taken care of reel, I just couldnt get use to the wrong handed crank. Corey
  25. Although ever since she started going chasing some hawgs with me it is hard for me to get out with just the guys. And she was crazy enough to go fishing with me last winter in January, on open water in Iowa!!! Corey
