  4. we hit 91 yesterday and gonna get close to that again today. swt still hovering just above 80. this is crazy stuff right here.
  5. “Old Timers Inc” latest venture. gonna add a metal roof and some bling next week. been in the upper 80’s all week too. lost 6 lbs in sweat since Monday.
  6. read this last night and had to come back and see it again. both of y’all do some fine looking work and i hate your guts. ?

not with some of us ?
  8. gonna be in the 80’s all week here with upper 80’s by the end of the week. swt’s are still around 80. i am SO ready for fall, it aint even funny. maybe by the end of October, who knows?
  9. Javelin made a quality boat. i currently own a 1996 model 367 (17’), with a 2000 model Johnson 90 hp. she will come outta the hole quickly with a top end of around 50 mph. my cousin has a 2000 Renegade 19’ with a Johnson 175 and it’s like riding in a Cadillac, even at 60+ mph! it is my understanding that the Renegade’s are all composite construction. if that motor checks out 5200 is a decent price. nice looking boat brother!
  10. each year, i will typically go through 30-40 bags of lizards, and the same amount of worms. i buy them in bulk.
  11. that rules!
  12. maybe an old Poe’s Balsa Wood crankbait?
  13. we met a couple guys out pre-fishing a BASS Open on our home lake this spring. they were both from NY. they kinda picked our brains (hold your laughter please) and we had a few laughs. super nice guys, glad to help them out.
  14. i had taken the little johnny in for some engine work and went to pick it up yesterday. i decided to give it a test run so i put in at Lake Norman State Park, which was on the way home. i also just happened to have my rods and worm bag with me, wink wink. i caught 4 spots and this bonus largemouth in a couple hours of fishing. the boat ran fine too.
  15. thanks Sam. we got by relatively unscathed in our neck of the woods, with only 5” of rain, but those poor folks down east got upwards to 2-3’ of it. we did not get the tornadoes like y’all did though. did you have any property damage?
  16. yikes, we dont need that. hopefully it will be picked up by an approaching cold front and ushered back out to sea. some rivers in the low country of both, NC and SC have yet to crest, and all time flood levels have already been set on some of them. thousands of hogs and hundreds of thousands chickens perished, along with breached hog waste retention lagoons, waste water treatment facilities, and some coal ash ponds. many roads and bridges have been washed out and will remain impassable for some time. sections of I 40 and I 95 are impassable as well.
  17. no spray attractant PLEASE i got a chuckle outta this one ?
  18. if you have a few minutes, here is a good article by CBS NEWS on the state of post Florence flooding https://www.cbsnews.com/live-news/hurricane-florence-aftermath-weather-flooding-power-outage-death-toll-fema-latest-forecast-live/
  19. i saw footage of a tornado in Midlothian yesterday. that was a nasty line of storms in that hurricane tentacle. hopefully they’ll get your power back up soon. keep us posted when you can. ?

good luck Russ. i am with you!
  21. 10 hours later, and it’s been raining here for 34 hours. the wind has finally settled down. folks down east are in dire straits. the flooding there is of biblical proportions.
  22. 24 hr measurable rainfall total at my house is a little over 2”. i say measurable because much of it is “sideways”, or wind blown rain, that isn’t easily captured in my basic rain gauge. winds have been steady 20+ mph since Friday but the gusts have now increased to 35+ mph as we are now in the right front quadrant of the storm and the rainfall intensity is increasing. lucky to still have electricity at this point in time.
  23. sometimes those bigger fish can be found lurking near the bottom in those areas frequented by the shad and schooling fish. that is where a simple texas rigged plastic can yield big dividends. and like bluebasser said, it doesn’t necessarily have to resemble the natural forage.
  24. we have also dropped the water level in the “cement pond”, which has been recently trashed btw with leaves and other wind blown debris ?
