  1. could have been a snake. They won't bother you. If they do, just throw stuff at them or make a commotion in the water with your rod tip, that usually scares them off.
  2. I recall a certain someone gently caressing another certain someone's leg ever so gently...and I was neither "someone" ;D
  3. I use the same stuff and I have also found the same thing. I thought I was the only one. I recently bought a spool of Trilene 100% to use for leaders when I'm fishing in rocks and such.
  4. btw, I just went to the Outer Banks a few weeks ago and there were guys repairing the staircases leading down from the dunes to the beach. We asked them what happened and they said a bunch of kids had been ripping apart the staircases. We looked down the beach and saw three or four staircases in a row that had missing support beams or were guard railings that were about to fall over...
  5. at least you have the power to do something about it. I would have paid money to see their faces when you flipped on your siren and lights. How many LEO members do we actually have here?
  6. I don't know. I'll find out once I get the reel and start weighing parts. Remember to take off the "Made in Japan" sticker on the bottom of the reel seat. That should shave off a little more weight... ;D
  7. once you find a good starting point from which you aren't backlashing then it gets a lot easier to make minimal adjustments to get longer distances. Once you get comfortable with two pins you won't have to fool with them anymore, all you'll have to do is adjust the spool tension occasionally when you change baits with significantly different weights. Also, another tip. However many pins you start with, when you adjust the brakes to use fewer pins, it's probably a good idea to tighten the spool tension at first and then slowly loosen it as you get accustomed to the new brake settings.
  8. What is wrong with the Core's handle? 5.5oz not light enough for ya?
  9. set two or three pins on the brakes (on opposite sides of the spool) and then turn the spool tension knob until it just barely allows the lure to fall. Start from there and then go to two pins on the brakes and loosen the spool tension as you get comfortable.

I am not sure if the land in Afghanistan is able to produce other crops. They need to make money some way and I'm not sure they know or are capable of doing it in other ways right now. Hopefully that will change soon.
  11. Nothing like walking down the aisle to a song sung by a woman beater... :
  12. what's the story behind this one?
  13. it's been working fine for me all day, what do you mean?
  14. How do they know he was kidnapped and didn't just run away? I hope he is alright.
  15. lol, dave. I'm just glad someone else posted. I was worried that the lack of posts following mine meant that my joke was misunderstood...
  16. You're an evil, evil, evil man... I should have mine by Tuesday. :-[ duuuuuuude. let us know how she handles.
  17. You don't care about drag, you are only considering the STX because of price, you imply the brakes on the STX will not be enough for frogs................................i think it is clear you really want/prefer the Curado so just spend the $30 more for it and get less IMO! I never said anything about the brakes not being enough, I was just saying they are important because someone else said I wouldn't need them.
  18. I don't care about drag. My Citica has more than enough drag to pull fish out of slop so I'm sure the Curado would also. And I will need the brakes if I switch to casting frogs. It's for a double duty combo.
  19. What else could you do? set in on fire? but then how would I recoup my losses?
  20. you're right. I imagine I could sell it fairly easily if I don't like it. And if TW runs out of them and nobody else puts them on sale, then I might even be able to turn a profit.... ;D Burley, I'm sorry...so sorry. :-[
  21. +1 See? That's what I told you, Aaron!
  22. That's why I'm so conflicted. I really like the look, weight, and braking of the Curado and I'm concerned about getting used to or not liking the brakes on the Revos but I also want to try something new and the Revos are on a dynamite sale..If they weren't on sale I would have no problem making the choice.
