VT beats BC
You are absolutely right, Sam. Hate to say it, but it's true.

West Virginia Blows It
WVU finds ways to lose. They've done it multiple times in the past few years...Can't wait to see what will happen now.

Ugliest Football Uniform
I was just talking about this today, they are DISGUSTING! It's Nike's fault. They donate all their stuff to Oregon because the founder was a track coach at Oregon so they have all sorts of deals with the athletics. I like simple uniforms, like Penn State. Classic.

First Trophy Certificate
Is that Remington down near Culpeper? I used to fish the Rapp down near there.

Uh oh, the deals and rumors are a flying...
I had heard about that maybe happening but I never followed up to see if it did. Thanks.

Yeah, but I'm just talking about pure defensive talent, which he DEFINITELY has. I really appreciate great outfielders. Do the Twins still have Torii Hunter? That would be a good outfield...

This Sunday in No. Va.
I MIGHT be able to go. Where are you headed? I'm going to the Army/Navy game on Saturday so I have to see how much work I get done on Friday and Saturday night to know if I'll be able to fish.

Thanksgiving Weekend Archery Buck
Nice buck, man. When I worked at Dick's this summer we had a guy who would come in and use our range and he would drill price tags we put on the block. He even split an arrow that was in the target, no kidding. Archery is really fun but I don't think I could get my shooting good enough to the point where I felt comfortable shooting a deer without fearing I would just injure him. I am probably going to get a rifle though, I feel like I could get more comfortable taking a shot with one of them. Now I just need to learn more about hunting, it seems like it would be a ton of fun.

Coco Crisp is awesome. He makes more insane catches than pretty much anyone.

Who has what it takes in NO.VA
sure thing, good luck.

GULP???
I only used it a little bit but I didn't like how expensive it was and how it dries up after you use it. It also smells awful. I might be giving the jerkbaits a shot in the spring though just because soft jerkbaits are my favorite baits and I like to try all the options. Other than for that reason, I think I'd stay away from it completely; it's fish catching capabilities are not good enough to deserve the price and short lifespan.

Who has what it takes in NO.VA
mayassa, if he's talking about the one that some of us other guys go to then it's the one near Bull Run Regional Park. To get there from 66, get off on the rt. 28 exit and go south. Continue south until you pass the intersection of Rt. 28 and Compton Rd. Soon after you will see a bridge. Do not cross the bridge, take the last right you can before it. That will lead you to a small parking lot where you can park legally and fish Bull Run. You can fish either downstream (go under the bridge to your left as you walk down from the parking lot) or upstream by walking up a hill and down the other side (directly over that hill is a good rock bluff that often holds smallies)

sean taylor in critical condition (dead)
I went to bed last night with them saying he was responsive...I wake up this morning and see this. Lots of NFL players have been dying lately but It's amazing how different it is when it happens to someone on your team that you've watched so much. His coaches said he was the best physical athlete they'd ever seen. I guess I'll never get to see him and Laron Landry split a guy in half at the waist with a high/low tackle like I wanted to... RIP SeanTay

A couple pictures from this summer
smallies AND peacocks?!?! you had a great summer!

Locating Bass--no electronics
I usually like to try to visit all of my lakes/ponds in the low water periods to see if any new features are revealed. You'd be surprised what you can see when the water gets low sometimes.

VT at UVA
UVA was overrated, I would have been very, very surprised if the Hokies had won by less than a touchdown.

WVU Sweeps UCONN 66-21, National Title Bound
WVU is a great team but I would like to see them play some more strong teams before I can really say they belong in a national championship game. I don't have anything against WV, in fact, I'd like to believe they are the real thing, but they have played a relatively weak schedule so I'd like to see how they stack up in their bowl game, whichever one they end up playing in. I wish there was a playoff system, there would be more good games AND a longer season. Lord knows what I'll be watching once college football ends...basketball? :'(

USGS - Find water levels, temps online
I have been using the USGS website for a while to plan fishing trips but for some reason I had neglected to make a post about it. I figured most people would know about it but I just remembered it today so I figured I'd make a post just in case you guys haven't heard about it. It is really helpful You can find water flows, height, and sometimes clarity and temperature on the internet so you can see find out information about the water you plan on fishing before you even get in the car... the website is www.usgs.gov Click on your state on the map to the right, then click "Real-Time Water Data" and then "Statewide Streamflow table." This will bring up a list of most of the waters in your state, grouping them based on their watersheds. Some watersystems have more than one point at which data is taken so find the sensor on your body of water that is closest to where you'll be fishing it. The sensor stations provide water flow and gage height and some even provide water temperatures and clarity. I hope this isn't old news and that it is helpful.

Bull Run
Been there a few times this late summer and early fall. I may try a couple more times before it gets too cold. Not my kind of wading though so I'll be on the bank.

Lake Curtis 11/21/07
^agreed. WHen I use a shaky head (which I do a lot) I don't try to feel a bite as much as I try to watch a change in the slack of my line. The way your slack behaves can easily tell you what your bait is doing, especially if it is a weighted bait.

I do not download pirated music
Muddy, it seems Urge has been bought out by Rhapsody. Be careful with that service, make sure to read what a membership entails. You usually have to buy a monthly subscription just to LISTEN to the songs. If you want to burn them you have to then pay extra to BUY them individually. Also, some of those services only allow you to listen to the music if you have an active subscription, so you will only be able to play the songs as long as you are paying the monthly fee.
