Well..
I dont have any more answers. Will a swimbait used in the Delta also work, say... on the East Coast? nah, they only work if there are trout for the bass to eat

Good Jig Trailers
I use GYCB Flappin' Hogs for clear/stained water and Rage Chunks or Paca Chunks in stained/muddy water

this fish is within an inch or two of my body. I think even you will agree that it is clearly bigger than your "4-14" it weighed 3 even.

After 12+ years of browsing forums...
lol, it would be the ideal situation for Muphry's Law wouldn't it? I used to think that people had two typing personalities; formal, and informal and that on forums people used the informal typing personality because they just didn't care. Now I've come to believe that sometimes this isn't the case because the spelling, grammatical, and syntactic errors are so egregious that they would actually require more work to put into text than the formal, correct version.

Lost your job? Give out $3,650 to strangers!!!
lol. This was voluntary. Tax money might go to other people but if you have no choice of whether or not to pay them, there is no good will involved.

Northern Virginia Fishing
We wouldn't have said anything if the weights were within reason...it really can be difficult to determine weight from a picture....but...dude, those first few aren't even close. It's not like all of the people who have commented are new at looking at fish photos. We know about the arm-length trick, we know that fish can look smaller in photos, but there is no way that those fish (especially the first few) are the weights you posted. That's the only reason I even said anything... Take the "5-11" for example. Your fist is the same distance from the camera as the fish. Your gripping hand is much wider than the distance from the fish' mouth to it's gill plate. Fish over 3lbs must have a bigger head than that (except in rare occasions) much less a 5lb fish. Is this a real BOGA grip you are using? Just wondering.

Misinformation
Personally, I don't think fish caught from some private pond should be eligible for records. They aren't really 'wild'. I agree

we're not just chasing smallies...we're looking for muskellunge as well! are you talking about the jet boats like the VDGIF guys use on the James? I've been to the shop owned by the guy who builds them, or at least I've been told he builds them for the game wardens to use on the upper James. My friend has a custom boat built by him but it's not a jet. we're gonna be in canoes/kayaks so I don't think we'll be jumpin any rocks ;D

I guess they could, although I wouldn't use braid for moving lures

It only makes the noise when you have something on the other end of your line though... :-?

Fishing for hogs on the potomac
yep, that's the document I ended up finding. I started at the VDGIF which referred me to the VRMC which finally referred me to the PRFC!

Fishing for hogs on the potomac
but the season opened below the 301 bridge this past weekend, right? I spent about 30 minutes bouncing around between the VDGIF, the MD DNR, the VMRC, and the PRFC websites before I found the regulations...I wish they would publish a color coded map or something!

Quietest and Smoothest Braid
haha. I think braided line topics are just one of my "rage triggers" Sometimes I need to stop and remember that the search feature is not always that great at finding stuff.

Quietest and Smoothest Braid
And the Fireline guys are going to tell you it's FireLine. The Daiwa guys will tell you it's Daiwa. The PowerPro guys will tell you the sound doesn't bother them. A braided line's "smoothness," and "quietness" are regularly addressed in braided line threads. I wasn't necessarily trying to be aggressive towards you. The question doesn't annoy me, per se, the same arguments that always result in all the threads about braid make me angry.

Quietest and Smoothest Braid
facepalm. allow me to sum up approximately 50,000 posts that have been made about "the best braid" in the past year: Some guys prefer FireLine (the new stuff) because it has more body and is "smoother" than other braid brands that have fewer strands. (Fireline has 8). Also, the box is very pretty to some people, as evidenced by the frequency with which its image is posted... Same goes for Daiwa Samurai braid. It can be a little difficult to find and a tad spendy, but it has very good reviews and a faithful following. TackleTour likes Sufix braid. The tests over 50 are 8 strand braids and it has lots of loyal users and a glowing review from TackleTour. Lots of guys like the old fashioned PowerPro, usually because it is "limp" and very manageable. Some guys don't like it because it can be rough and loses its color fast but others use it anyway because it doesn't break and performs the way they want it to. Those are the most popular (or at least most argued about) brands...but there are others. there, now we don't need 5 pages of the same old same old. 8-)

Snakehead recipes ?
I've done that with salmon but never a white fish like snakehead. Might be worth a shot next time.

Misinformation
So the state keeps two record categories. One for fish that were released that only require a length. The other is for fish that were weighed on a certified scale. That's stupid. I'd just disregard the "release" records because they are unverified. Jarrett Edwards has the record as far as I'm concerned.
