  1. Fishing a steep riverbank when it got too steep to stay by the water. I scramble up the 12-14 ft bluff to go down to another flat area. Just as I clear the top of the bluff two deer that had been laying down, jump 8ft in the air. Of course, I probably jumped 10 ft in the air. I was bout 5 ft from them when they got up.
  2. cool deal! I really dig those short stops like that when a couple good fish are lipped, pack up and back to work. Make the rest of the day better. I dig it more to fish all day but like J. Joplin said "get it while you can"
  3. Car door 1, Snag 1, Hookset 1 and one broke to a catfish. Had it over the side with a shiner for bait. Fish grabs, I swing around as rod starts for the drink, catch rod with foot, rod breaks, fish landed. 4# channel cat.
  4. Zona is riot. Some of his lines are hilarious. He did an episode of Beat Charlie Moore, where they just go back and forth that had me busting stitches.

They are always hiring down at the local recruiters office. Many positions available with solid organizations. What's cool about this deal is they will provide money for attending college after you complete your hitch. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard are always looking for help, see your recruiter today
  6. I recommend sending it out for the service you mention. I'm not saying it can't be done, cause lots of folks break their reels down to service them. Keep the diagram close and take lots of notes if you never done it before. Otherwise, you'll be sending it out to get it to work again.
  7. I will admit there was a time before bass fishing when I imbibed a little too much. That time has passed. Now, with bass fishing I keep too busy throwing baits and the like. I still have 1-2 beers with my lunch maybe 1-2 later in the day. Not the twelve like back then.
  8. Anyone been out on Pondo or any of the others lately? Report??
  9. Don't waste your cranks- they will hang up. Topwaters are good for river stuff but I personally feel its too early for that bite. If you really want to crank, you can get away with Shad Raps #5 an 7 by taking the front hook off. It doesn't noticeably effect the bait. But they won't get hung up as bad. Stay with plastics. Use just enough weight to maintain contact. Too much weight means more snags.

The econonomy sucks partly because people spent or incurred more debt than they could afford. I haven't changed a thing because I take on next to no credit card debt and manage all other expense according to the budget. If I don't have or expect to have the money, I don't buy. It is always good to get an education! If we insist on placing a dollar sign on a diploma, its intrinsic value is negated. However, education does not always occur in a classroom. People should take it upon themselves to be informed. If I'm considering a mortgage note for x amount of dollars, I'm gonna sit down and do some research so I don't get burned. For that reason. I have amore difficult time blaming bankers for putting people into bad loans.
  11. This post is soo cool! Makes me want to go out back to practice hitting the can. Looks like you are on your way, Hit. Looking forward to hearing of how it turns out. Don't forget to bring the camera.
  12. Never liked ugly stiks. They're like a willow branch. Save another buck or two and get something else.
  13. Fav: Pflueger Patriarch!!!! Why put the President on? I have one and love it but the Patriarch is tops.
  14. Most I encounter think of it as hook and worm, sit on the bank, drink beer and see what happens by. I will admit there was a time when this was what I did. Did more drinking than fishing and realized what a danger I was on the road home. Then....I found Bassresource. Now, It's hell to sit and stare at a propped up rod and sip beer...Boooring! Can't catch a PB "larry" like this. Now folks think I'm crazy when I show off my arsenal of equipment or even talk about it. Fact is, I drink less alcohol and have a healthy hobby. Its all good 8-)
  15. I prefer to fish by myself. Don't tell the wife though. I get more uptight with another in the boat. It really fires me up when they can't cast well and I'm wasting my time on their snags > I do enjoy the time with another person though but I change my attitude to accomodate the additional person. The wife is a good coangler and helps to find patterns that I don't notice. Dad can fish with me anytime and I'm glad to have him aboard.
  16. Video...Rocks!!! KVD...Rocks!!! Glenn...Rocks!!!
  17. It seems anymore that a combination of baits is what it takes to get the job done in a tournament. Also, they advertise the heck out of a bait that has a part in a tournament win or a top 5 place. Like a chatterbait. The real money has been made on a Jitterbug and the market is full of em: I got 3, half dozen original Rapalas, 3-4 SPRO frogs etc, etc.
  18. Sweet! I thought the DVR missed too. Wanna see that Iaconnelli giant.
  19. Seen on Jimmy Houston Outdoors how he likes to just nose hook his Money Minnows like you would a live shiner, when cover allows.
  20. Threw a white fluke, deadstick while I talked to the missus and a 12 lb catfish crushed it. Good Times!
  21. Pond fishing mostly. Caught a few on a red eye and tubes. I was considering Banner Marsh for Sat. but too many honeydos > to get away. Since its a bit of a drive and the weather looks rough I may be better off staying home and doin honey...dos :
