  1. I actually perfer this frog to the typical "boot legged" frogs like the ribbit and cane toad. More action at slower speeds. But you loose the sound.
  2. So are you telling me that you wouldn't have eaten anything if you didn't go fishing? If you were going to eat something at home, then pack a lunch and take food out of your cost analysis. That just freed up $20 for a new Mattlures baby bass.
  3. Frogs will work. The fact that there doesn't seem to be any around there wont stop them. I don't think a bass sees the bait as just a frog, they see it as something alive that they can get to and eat. Good luck
  4. I can't say that mine is any better or worse than last year. It's not the same as last year. This time last year I was on a killer deep water bite but now I am getting them shallow in grass. Just need to keep adjusting.
  5. Coppernose Bluegill Fat Free Shad, well all the old Fat Free Shad patterns. Blue Fox Big Bass Spinnerbait Rapala Husky Minnow
  6. Thanks for the heads up!
  7. Those are some nice sacs guys... that doesn't sound right. Biggest bag was 27lbs some odd ounces all on deep cranks. Of course it was fun fishing. Even if there was a tounry that day I would have only had 14 pounds or so. All the big girls bit between 3 and 5 pm.
  8. I am sorry to hear about this. x2
  9. Reflective inserts have been in fishing lures as long as they have been making them out of polycarbonate. I have bombers that I bought in the 80's that have reflective inserts and I know they weren't the first. :-? Why are you comparing a minnow bait with a crankbait?
  10. Very cool. Looked like a Japanese bait to me as well.
  11. The pooch is a great little bait. I have one in a baby bass pattern that is killer in late spring.
  12. I just heard about it on Coast to Coast lastnight. Sure will be crazy if it turns out to be true.

Coworker just sent this to me. Thought you all might enjoy it. Recently a routine police patrol was parked outside a bar in Aiken, South Carolina. After last call, the officer noticed a man leaving the bar so apparently intoxicated that he could barely walk. The man stumbled around the parking lot for a few minutes, with the officer quietly observing. After what seemed an eternity, in which he tried his keys on five different vehicles, the man managed to find his car and fall into it. He sat there for a few minutes as a number of other patrons left the bar and drove off. Finally he started the car, switched the wipers on and off--it was a fine, dry summer night--,flicked the blinkers on and off a couple of times, honked the horn and then switched on the lights. He moved the vehicle forward a few inches, reversed a little, and then remained still for a few more minutes as some more of the other patrons vehicles left. At last, when his was the only car left in the parking lot, he pulled out and drove slowly down the road. The police officer, having waited patiently all this time, now started up his patrol car, put on the flashing lights, and promptly pulled the man over and administered a breathalyzer test. To his amazement, the breathalyzer indicated no evidence that the man had consumed any alcohol at all! Dumbfounded, the officer said, 'I'll have to ask you to accompany me to the police station. This breathalyzer equipment must be broken.' 'I doubt it,' said the truly proud Redneck. 'Tonight I'm the designated decoy.'
  14. I don't know why it didn't go through. It was actually the same one that SJex gave the link to. I downloaded it a few years ago but didn't know where I had found it.
  15. I like the tail on that Monsterjack.

Looks nice. From the way you described the blanks action it sounds like a salmon blank like Alpster used. Those things load nicely with swimbaits, unlike my quantum PT swimbait broomstick.
  17. I would not suggest coming to California. I know we can't get into politics on here so I'll just say that it is so screwed up out here that is it not even funny. We are the highest taxed state in the nation and they want to raise our taxes again to get out of debt instead of cutting spending. When they do make spending cuts it is normally on the DFG and state parks. If you want to enjoy your hunting and fishing I would go some place else. Just my 2 cents.
  18. What he said
  19. 5" Kalin's Lunker grubs all the way. I like the Yamamoto grubs as well but having fish rip the tails off gets old.
  20. Could that have been a Pupfish by any chance?
  21. Looks like you got it figured out pretty good to me!
  22. Check your email
  23. Thanks guys. I don't have an airbrush or anything, just a permanent marker and a few cans of spray paint. I actually did a similar thing to a black and silver DT-16. I was out with a buddy not catching much and then I took a sharpie to the crank, marked it up, and stuck a three pounder on the very next cast
  24. I hope that when he finds them that its the last place he looks. I would get a little concerned if he kept looking after he found them
