  1. Wow Chris! If you are that verbose and have so much information to share, why don't you write a book? Great stuff!
  2. What a great gift form great parents! The boaters safety course is well worth taking. Despite the fact that I am in my sixties, I retake the course about once a year. That said, be very careful when on the water. There are a lot of idiots out there who haven't got a clue.
  3. Kelly, you weren't the only one who cut the cheese. ;D
  4. Kent, it's none of my business, but how long have you been reviewing the Victoria's Secret catalogs? 8-)
  5. One of the things that greatly irritates me is that there are those among us who feel the need to tell everyone about their collection of rods and reels. Why? If you are boasting, those of us with less financial resources will look at it as just that - boasting - and perhaps *** you. Those of us with greater financial resources will say "Is that all he/she can afford?" - and perhaps *** you. Personally, I like the equipment I have. I catch fish with it. Nuff said.
  6. Glenn, are you saying that people are trying to access BR from their phones? Gawd, I love this site, but there ain't no way I'm going to spend any time (or money) logging on to the forums and trying to read a little-bitty screen which covers topics I could easily wait to get home for and read on my big screen. It must be an Old Fart thing. ;D
  7. It's quite simple. Rose hired a Scum Sucking Bottom Feeder (Lawyer.) SSBFs are very good at twisting things around. I could rant on, but it would serve no purpose.
  8. Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive (Sir Walter Scott.) It's now officially confirmed. Mr. Rose was caught cheating. Everything he is, was, or would have been, is now irrefutably lost.
  9. I think I understand what you are trying to say, but your punctuation and capitalization are so poor that I'm not too sure. Are you trying to say that you have discovered a problem with a reel before you have even removed it from its packaging? Why don't you give the reel a chance ant try attaching it to a pole, spooling some line on it, and giving it a few casts?
  10. That pipe cleaner idea is great! I'm nowhere near blind, but my vision isn't perfect. Added to this is my problem with shaky hands. The pipe cleaners will cut my re-thread time from minutes to seconds. Thanks guys!
  11. I use a whalers' harpoon for all my fish. For some reason not many of them survive after I release them.
  12. There are ten great reasons to attend the next BR road trip, namely: 1. To meet and socialize with new friends from the board. 2. To meet and socialize with old friends from the board. 3 To fish with new and old friends. 4. To catch some fish. And, uh, I forget the other six reasons.
  13. I am actively considering the purchase of a wireless TM. The Minn Kotas and Motorguides both look impressive, but the MG seems to be able to do the same job for about $300 less than a comparable MK. Opinions would be very much appreciated. BTW, I have read the reviews on the BPS web site and am aware that the nose cone on the MG seems to be a weak point. Anyone have an update on that issue?

OK, I have to confess. Due to the abuse I have been receiving on the Road Trip thread, I planted a worm on this site that seeks to eliminate Illini posters by drastically slowing everything down for them.
  15. Jack, you are a sick man. LMAO!
  16. Yawn! Idle threats from the decrepit and demented. Be advised that I hold a third degree black belt in MesswithmeandIwillshootyoursorryass.
  17. For personal reasons this thread is very timely. I'm actively considering purchasing a MK Terrova with Autopilot and Universal Transducer. Do you folks recommend the Co-Pilot wireless accessory?
  18. The operative word is ILL. That's how you Yankees make us Rednecks feel. FordNFishinLover, welcome to the forum and welcome to the next BR trip. Be assured that you WILL have a seat in a boat. Also, you have my personal guarantee that you will have a great time, so long as you stay away from cart7t. ;D

  20. If anyone in their right mind is bothering to read all of these "mine is better than yours" posts... Rod: 9' XH Ugly Stick Reel: Mitchell 300 Line: 60# Acme mono
  21. Gary, your spelling is very good not. Grammar, the word is. :
  22. I sold my old '89 Pro 17 and replaced it with an '04 TV-18. I loved the old boat, but it's rivets leaked and it would not handle the rough water of a large lake. Compared to the old Pro 17, the deck of my TV-18 looks like an aircraft carrier
  23. Yeah, that's all we need ... a bunch of guys that are all hopped up. ;D
  24. Awesome catch! Thanks for sharing, and welcome to the forum!
  25. If you have an on-board charger on your boat there is no need to remove your batteries for the winter. After all, you don't remove your car battery do you?
