  1. To quote the old adage, "The more you learn, the more you earn." Muddy's right. Take a breather for a semester and work a low paying job for a while, because a low paying job is the only one you will find. In the process, think about having a wife and kids, and trying to support them on the money you earn. Then think about trying to buy a house or a good used car while still supporting your wife and kids on the money you earn. And then think about trying to buy a boat while making a house note, a car note, and supporting your wife and kids on the money you earn. College isn't for everyone. If it's not for you then you MUST learn a skilled trade, and that will require you to keep your head stuck in books for at least a couple of more years. I fervently hope that you take at least a ten year look down your life's road and decide where you will be. The decisions that you make now will determine where you will be then.
  2. Skillet, You and I have a lot in common. For what it's worth, I've never watched any episode of any of the so-called "reality" shows. You name it, I've never watched it. To be honest, I seldom watch any program aired by ABC, NBC, or CBS. It's all programming for the dumb masses. I will admit that occasionally one of the networks screws up and airs something worth watching, such as "The Unit" or most recently "Comanche Moon" which has a lot of promise.
  3. Hopefully, very soon, that kid's Dad is going to shove that pair of glasses up young Mr. Snot Nose's butt.
  4. Wow! You could run over one of the Lake Lice and hardly notice the impact. ;D
  5. NEBassMan, If you are in the home construction business and are willing to re-locate, Oklahoma is crying for people. The State recently enacted a VERY stringent law regarding illegal immigrants and it seems they have all melted away. Housing contractors around here are desperate for people because, unlike many other parts of the U.S.of A, our economy is thriving.
  6. Place a block of wood over the head of the screws and then beat the hell out of the block with a hammer. This will help break the rust loose and make them easier to remove.
  7. I have toes? Does that mean that I have one of those Manly parts as well? I haven't seen any of them in years. I was beginning to think that they all fell off.
  8. Muddy, you win. The ghotti hat-check cracked me up. And besides, we wouldn't want to embarress Avid, now would we? Avid, keep your head up.
  9. Mattell's new AK-47 Erector Set.
  10. I'm with Five Bass Limit on this one. On the last Lake Fork trip, I had the great good fortune of meeting such celebrities as Glenn, ALL the Mods, Alpster and many other great guys and gals. I think Muddy was there also. :-/
  11. Burley, thanks for the 'heads up.' From now on I'll start eating at funeral homes. There's always plenty of them little sandwiches what are left over, and besides "they" would never think to look for me there.
  12. Glenn, the quality of this site would be greatly improved if you could install a Mook filter. ;D
  13. Hey Russ, don't bow up like an old rooster. All of us reg-lers know that Glenn is working on a patch. But, it doesn't hurt to have a little fun at his expense. Oh, I forgot, you are a member of "La Cabella's Cosa Nostra." Please tell the Godfather I meant no offense.
  14. Dipshilt: (n) a Mook who scolds like Old Mutha Hubbard
  15. It's not slow, it's REAAAAAAAL SLOOOOOOW
  16. It's amazing! Muddy has joined an Italian gang that hangs out a Cabella's! You guys even have your own hit man, Gandolfini. Fellow members of Bass Resource, I suggest you take careful note of the members of "La Cabella's Cosa Nostra" and refrain from irritating them in any manner. These guys are BAAAAAAAAAAAD.
  17. Let me clarify my above statement. I am talking about local neighborhood stop signs. You know, the ones that have very little traffic? Like I said, I don't like being told what to do by inanimate objects. I also said that I am not stupid. As was said by others, I slowly roll through it. I do not blatantly disregard it. As for red lights, I respect the message they send. They tell me I'm going to get killed, or worse, kill someone else if I don't stop. I stop. As for seat belts, I wouldn't drive around the block without wearing one. I'm not stupid.
  18. To Avid and SteveP. I was going to throw you guys a zinger, but since you guys have been so kind to me lately, I can't bring myself to do it. On a side note I would like to know which version of PhotoShop you are using to "Enhance" the quality and size of the fish in your photos. Also, just as a suggestion, if you guys would hold the fish a little higher, so we couldn't see your faces, the quality of the photos would be greatly improved.
  19. Ronnie, any man who could have put up with Muddy and Ron during the drive down to Fork last year is OK in my books. Did you wear a gas mask?
  20. The limit or slower, depending on potential problems.
  21. 1. I can't stand being told what to do by an inanimate object. 2. I am not stupid. 3. It's against the law to run a stop sign. Therfore, I will drive through the intersection without stopping, provided that it is safe to do so and there are no cops around. It's called using common sense. Unfortunately, there are many, many people who are not smart enough to have common sense. ;D
