I have no problem with those who have never attained the skills for the proper use of the English language, nor do I have a problem with typos. Also, I don't have a problem with accepted acronyms such as IMO and BTW. What I have a problem is laziness when using the written language.

OK folks, those of you who know me also know that I can't stand it when I see our younger members butchering the English language by taking shortcuts with spelling and totally omitting any semblance of punctuation. Here's why. I am a war baby. My Dad was a Marine who fought in the Pacific Theater. After the war was over he returned and promptly married my Mom. My parents had little formal education. Dad was orphaned at a very young age and never completed the forth grade. My mother dropped out of school when she was also very young. To the great good fortune of my two younger brothers and I, our parents were almost obsessive about we boys getting a good education. In addition, my Dad was obsessive about using proper English. When we came home from school we would teach him. He said, time and time again, "If you can't speak good and write good, you can't do good." Long story short, we three boys made it, and none of us ever forgot what Dad said about "speaking good and writing good." Now you know where I've been coming from.

I fail to see what the problem is. Trying to keep the introduction of species hostile to any existing aquatic environment should be of prime importance to the Wildlife and Fisheries Department of every State. Has anyone paid attention to the promulgation of the Zebra Mussel?

You are probably not going to believe this, but I am an administrator/moderator on another fishing website having a MUCH smaller membership than this one. As a Mod, I try to maintain the same standards on that site as the Mods do one this one. Their job is much more difficult, due to the shear volume. My hat is off them.

I can't tell you how thrilled we adults are to have you back with us, teaching your version of the English language.

tntitans, I have said the before, but I will say it again. The oil companies do not control the price of oil. The market place does. Oil is traded on the open market just like any other commodity, e.g. wheat or beef. The fortunes of the oil companies rise and fall with the Market Place.

Here in Tulsa the only cable company is Cox. I have TV, Internet and phone service with them. All in all, excellent service and TV programming options.
