SteveP and Avid fish from Avids Osprey
Steve, looks can be deceiving. The bass in my avatar weighed fifteen pounds. Unlike Avid some folks, I was holding the fish close to my body in order not to distort its size. That, coupled with the fact that I am a large individual , makes my trophy look smaller that it really was. Would I lie?

What makes a good fishing partner?
My fishing partner and I have absolutely nothing in common. When we are not on the water we seldom socialize. But, when we get on the water, we're like two peas in a pod. For some strange reason we both seem to be on the same wavelength. We thoroughly enjoy being on the water together, whether we catch fish or not.

You know what grinds my grears
Dave, I resemble that remark. I despise the bad grammar, spelling and punctuation, but have vowed to keep my mouth shut in hope that someone else would take up the flag.

am i wimpy
Why do you feel you have to ask the question, since you've pretty much answered it yourself. Did someone DARE you to drive down that road? ;D ;D ;D

Asking your wife's permission...
If your marriage lasts for thirty-eight years, as mine has, you and your spouse have learned a lot of give and take. I have the great good fortune of being married to a CPA. Her busiest time of the year is during the Spawn. She's so busy raking in money that she barely knows I exist. She's working twelve hours a day, seven days a week. What a perfect time to sneak off on a couple of week-long fishing trips with her blessing. I've got two planned in March. One to Lake Fork and one to Guntersville.

I love long exposures
If you continue with you long exposures, you are very likely to get arrested.

You know what grinds my grears
I fully agree with Chaddy. Nitwits who will not move out of the passing lane irritate me more than any other driving situation. There ought to be a law that allows you to shoot out the tires of nitwits.

battery location
Regardless of where you intend to install the trolling motor, put the battery in the bow. It will help balance the load.

Your Dream Trip
Avid, are you trying to tell us that your dream fishing trip does not include Angelina Jolie? BTW, my dream fishing trip happens all the time. I simply love getting out on the water. Of course it would be much better if I could catch a ten pound bass, but if I never do, I will have enjoyed every minute of it.

California Guys, Hunker Down!
Hey Guys, I feel your pain. We just came out of the worst ice storm in Oklahoma history. 700,000 people without power. I lost power for five days. Others lost theirs for over two weeks. Mother nature can be pretty brutal at times, and anywhere she chooses.

The "baitmonkey" shtick
Well, stop thinking. It's not a joke. It's almost a mantra among the regulars. The Bait Monkey is Always right behind you, looking into your wallet.

do i officially have no life???
Well, after your post, I went back and checked my count. Jeez, I'm over a thousand also. On average, I fish twice a week, year round. I have a loving wife. My kids are grown and out of the house. I guess I would have to admit that I have a life - and a good one. I have to confess though, that I had a HELLUVA lot more fun when I was in my Twenties and Thirties; and I hardly ever fished back then, except for

On board battery chargers
What Bud said. I would stay away from the BPS chargers. You can buy a refurbished unit directly from DualPro for about 2/3's of the price of a new one.

Questions about Inflatable pontoon boats
Muddy, I have a SeaEagle 9. I love it. It takes me about thirty minutes to get it into the water, including inflation, installation of floor boards and trolling motor. I inflate it with a Coleman rechargable pump. It's got four inflatable chambers in it, so unless someone throws a hand greanade into the boat, it's very safe. I'll make you a deal on it you can't refuse.

Porta-Bote???
Firstl, welcome to the Forum. I have a SeaEagle 9 and I too looked into the Port-a-Boat. In my opinion, it's too expensive and too bulky. I decided to stay with my raft and its trolling motor.

Google Earth users.......need some help
I agree with slomoe. It just depends on where the "powers that be" have decided to publish hi-res satellite images. I live in Tulsa, and the images are hi-res. I can clearly see my truck in the driveway. If I pan twenty miles to the west, the resolution is so poor it's almost useless.

Thanks for another GREAT year!!
To Glenn, the deranged mods, and to all of my friends and acquaintances. Thanks for making this board what it is. I've learned a lot, taught a few, and have generally had fun just hanging around. Great site!

Tell us about your screen name
I'm 6'3" tall, but when I'm lying down, I'm just as long as I am tall. Hence, Long Mike.
