In a word, No. You will not overload your wall outlet. Without going into the math, your charger is converting 120V AC to 12V DC. The charger is demanding less than an Amp from your outlet.

Red, I very much want the Road Trip to come back to Texas, but the majority of our membership is located East of us. Maybe one year we will throw chance to the wind and go back to Fork or even to Toledo Bend or Rayburn or to (do I dare to dream?) Lake Falcon.

I have a story to tell. Six years ago, when the 2nd annual Road Trip was announced, I was very tempted to sign up, but I was a newbie to bass fishing and to BassResource. All of the members who had signed up had hundreds, if not thousands of posts on the boards. I had maybe, twenty. So, I asked on the forum if the Road Trip was reserved for only the very active members and/or experienced anglers. The overwhelming response was "Hell no! Come join us!" I signed up, but I confess that as a newbie I was very concerned about being "left out of the loop" when it came to the after-hours gatherings. I figured that a clique of the established members would form and I would be left standing on the outside, looking in. I couldn't have been more wrong. It made no difference to the attending group if I had one week of bass fishing experience or twenty years. The camaraderie was great, and is the one reason why I have not missed another Road Trip. I suppose it all boils down to the fact that the road trip is not a tournament. It's just a bunch of folks who want to get together, fish, sip a few suds, have a LOT of fun and tell as many lies as possible. We members who will be attending don't care who you are, or what experience you have, or whether or not you have a boat. I assure you, you will be welcome to join us. And I assure you, you will have a GREAT time.

I absolutely love mine. Never had a problem. A lot of guys who have grown up with cable-steering don't like it because the foot-pedal on the cable-steer is almost an extension of their body. They steer the boat unconsciously. I, on the other hand, am relatively new to bass fishing and could never get comfortable with cable-steer. The I-Pilot was a godsend to me. It has so many neat features! One of my favorite is the Spot-Lock. If I need to re-tie, I simply push a button and the built-in GPS on the Terrova keeps me within a five-foot radius, regardless of wind or current. Steering with the I-Pilot is instantaneous and is just as effective as cable-steer once you get used to it. In short, I have nothing but good things to say about this system.

I have a college degree in Electronics. I've never used it. When I graduated in 1969, the best paying jobs were in the oilfield (I grew up in Cajun country,) and hired on with a company that paid excellent wages, but they wanted people with mathematic skills, and screw the electronics The problem was, I was on twenty-four hour call. I would get a call at say, 11:00 PM telling me that I would have to be on an offshore crew-boat at 6:00. The boat launch was a two hour drive for me and I still had to drive to the shop and load the needed gear. Then, I had to take a two to six hour boat ride to get to the rig. Long story short, I worked my butt off for five years and have worked sixty hours straight without sleep. Yes, I had a degree and yes I got very dirty, and no, I didn't love the job, but I was good at it. Eventually I was promoted out of field work and worked my way through the ranks, (working eleven years overseas) until I became a VP. But then the oilfield boom crashed in 1984. Tens of thousands of people lost their jobs, including me. It took me a year to find another job, but I was finely hired on as Operations Manager for a subsidiary company that was owned by a pipeline related company here in Tulsa. After eight years I became President of that subsidary company. Two years later, the parent company sold my company, and I wasn't part of the package. For the second time in my career, I was back on the street. I was fifty-five years old and knew that my chances of getting hired at that age were slim to none. So, I started my own business. Before I did, I did a lot of research. I wanted a niche company with few competitors - and I found it. After reading all of the above, you will probably find it odd that I went into the business of marble restoration. That is, re-polishing marble..At that time, I was the only guy in the state of Oklahoma that did that sort of work. After a couple of years I ended up with nine employees, but only three of whom I would call true craftsmen. There are over 3,000 types of marble and each reacts differently to the restoration process, That's when a craftsman comes in. But I'm digressing, babbling if you will. I'm now sixty-five and have down-sized my company to only one employee - me. I work strictly from referrals. I do all the work. I get very dirty. And I love it! Looking back on my life. I ask myself "What would you have done differently?" I keep coming up with the same two answers. 1. Change nothing. I would have changed nothing, but have sacrificed untold amounts of hours/days/weeks of quality time with my wife and girls Neglect of family comes back to haunt you in many ways. 2. Become an electrician. It was my ambition before my parents shoved me into college. I would have been good at that trade, and could have eventually gone into business for myself. All the while spending quality time with my family. At home. Spilt milk. Water under the bridge

Boat Owners insurance is very inexpensive. I pay $216 a year for complete coverage, including $100K in liability. I initially insured my boat through my homeowners insurance, but soon realized that my agent didn't have a clue. Most insurance companies only key on insuring the boat, motor and trailer. But, what about the contents? Are your rods, reels, trolling motor and electronics covered? For the above reasons I switched my coverage to Worldwide Marine Underwriters. They know what boaters need. The guy I initially talked to was Bob Luellen. He was VERY thorough with his questions. Unfortunately, I no longer have Bob's phone number, but you can contact Worldwide Marine at 1-800-339-1235.

For you guys who are planning on staying at the state park, be advised that the park took a direct hit from a tornado last April.
