I'm sure you have no interest in attending the annual BassResource Road Trip, but we are headed to Guntersville in April and will be staying at the Hampton Inn. It's set up very nicely for fishermen. Alternatives are the Best Western (also catering to fishermen,) Guntersville State Park, and Goose Pond Lodge.

Folks, having been in an Executive Management position in my career I can speculate that Veronica (our Val Monte contact) was kept in the dark about a deal being made to raze the hotel and build condos. Think about it. If the deal didn't go through, the owner would have his rooms booked. If it did go through, and apparently it did, then Veronica was left out in the cold with the wolves howling, and the owner could care less. He just made a bundle of money.. Veronica was left to pick up the pieces. Again, I'm only speculating here, but that's what I would have done if I was the owner, but I would pay her a very handsome bonus.

Boys and girls, a problem has developed that you all need to be made aware of. Val Monte Resort is being torn down to make room for condos. The rooms we reserved will soon be no more. We are scrambling feverishly to find suitable alternate accommodations for the same time frame, and should have things finalized within the next forty-eight hours. We will get back to you with the alternate as soon as it is finalized. We are very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. I want to thank Fishing Rhino for bringing this matter to our attention.

I'm with Stritr, as soon as my head hits the pillow I'm asleep, and it will take an artillery barrage to wake me up. As for the rest of the factoids posted by the OP, I would speculate that most, if not all, of the assertions are true. We are all half turtle. Not sure about the polar bears, and don't want to find out. As for the ears and nose continuing to grow, sadly, I am living proof that it happens.

I'm reminded of the I40 bridge collapse here in Oklahoma back in 2002. It happened under much the same circumstances. A tug boat operator hit one of the bridge pilings with his load of barges. Unfortunately fourteen people lost their lives when they drove over the breach at 70 mph.

Jigfisherman, you were right on the money with the fix. I must have done something wrong the last time I tried the fix because I didn't get the menu option of Languages. It's now fixed. Thank you.

I wasn't aware of the problem until today. Zip pow lives nearby. I'll ask him to make an on-site visit and find out what gives.

I've experienced the same problmes with Firefox.. Tried the fix and it didn't work. We Mods have been talking about this for the last day or so. I suggested going back to IE. Francho poo-poo'd that idea. Then Fluke suggested Chrome. It's late, and I'm headed for the rack. I'll try Chrome tomorrow.

If you have only $1,500 to spend on a vacation to the lower forty-eight, then I would suggest that you stay very close to home. On that budget, flying is out of the question, so it's gonna be a driving/camping trip down the East Coast. .

I'm an avid Saints fan, but the Niners flat beat them, hands down. That TD by Smith at the end was awesome to watch. I guess I'll go cry in my beer and hope for next year.

Got about a half inch here in Tulsa last night; the first of the season. It's already melting off and we're expecting a high of sixty this week-end. I know it's too much to hope for, but I hope it's the end of the snow for this winter.

It's actually a pair of things, or, if you're lucky, pairs of things. A number of years ago, my daughter and one of her girlfriends almost got arrested for displaying their respective pairs. Not surprisingly, I didn't find out about it until years later.
