Let's stay on topic guys. There is no reason why the BR membership cannot gather and have local/regional get-togethers. All you need is an organizer/coordinator. Personally I would love to see it happen, but the gathering cannot be officially sanctioned by BR because of potential liability issues for both BR and its sponsors. At this point in time there is only one Official Road Trip. That's the one that both Glenn and Keri try to attend. Bear in mind that they live in Washington state. Unless Bill Gates fell in love with them, traveling to every group gathering would be somewhat cost prohibitive.

I can't comment on an issue that is currently in litigation. I'm in the process of suing Walter for plagiarism.

Run all of your accessories off the cranking battery. It gets recharged whenever the big motor is running. In addition, running the depth finders off the TM battery can result in electrical interference from the TM.

My wife and I grew up in south Louisiana, where it seems that everything bites and most are poisonous. I've been bitten by both a Black Widow and a scorpion. No biggie other than some swelling. But then, I was within a few hours of a doctor. Antibiotics and steroids, if memory serves, did the trick. It wasn't until we moved to Tulsa, away from the bugs, did we have an encounter with the Brown Recluse (aka Fiddle-back.) Somehow my wife managed to get bit on the lower butt by one of these creatures. At first she thought it was just another insect bite. Been there, done that. Later, she thought it was an ingrown pimple. Long story short, by the time she went to the doctor the poison from the Recluse had destroyed all of her tissue in an area about 3/4 inch in diameter and depth. I'll leave out the details of her healing process, but it wasn't easy for either of us.

There are us regular folks, and then there are folks like Nate who keep the electronic world from locking up all around us. Nate, you rock!

Louisiana's motto is Sportsman's Paradise, and you will be right in the middle of it. Whether fishing or hunting, there are tons of places to choose from. To mention just a few, Toledo Bend is very near. At over 100,000 acres you could fish it for a lifetime and never hit all the coves. Then there is Caney Lake,.about an hours drive away. At only 5,000 acres, it has produced some of the largest bass ever caught in LA.. I could go on and on, but if you are a sportsman, Louisiana is the place to be. Just a few caveats. Be prepared for the heat and humidity. Most importantly, be prepared for the critters. From the smallest insect to the gators, they all bite.

Not to worry my arse! There are tens of thousands of folks along the Carolina and adjoining coasts who will suffer catastrophic damage. It's all well and good for one to sit up in far north New England and make pontifications, but don't forget about the unfortunate folks who are going to be taking the brunt of the storm. Been there, done that, several tmes.. Never want to do it again. I wish only the very best for you folks who are about to take a big hit. I hope you all have generators, because you will need them..
