  1. Christmas is right around the corner. Looks like I'm going to have to write a letter to Santa.
  2. Sam I hear ya. Danm, as I am typing this we just had another earthquake. That's three in three days. No harm done, but I'm beginning to think I live in California instead of Oklahoma. Anywho, back to football. OSU has an easy schedule until they meet OU in what is called Bedlam. It's a coin toss on this one, but my vote will have to go to OSU because OU lost not only one of their star running backs, Dominique Whaley, but also one of the best receivers there has ever been - Ryan Broyles. As for LSU, they also have an easy schedule until they run into the Hawgs. For some obscure reason the Hawgs always seem to have LSU's playbook in their back pocket. Another coin toss, but I'm going with LSU's defense. Which, hopefully, brings us to the Championship. LSU vs OSU. Who will I cheer for? I honestly don't know. I grew up in South Louisiana but went to Northwestern instead of LSU. I've lived in Oklahoma for twenty-five years; almost as long as I lived in Louisiana. I have strong affinities for both. I think LSU will take the title, but either way, it's been a hell-of-a-season..
  3. Unless I'm in jail or the hospital I won't miss it, despite the fact that Taylor Swift will be on. Miranda Lambert is a very talented gal and is as hot as they come. She can park her shoes under my bed any time ... provided she doesn't awaken my wife.
  4. It must be an Old Fart's thing, but I love watching 60 Minutes. To hear that my favorite curmudgeon passed away grieves me to no end.
  5. Today I was able to watch OU stomp A&M, and THEN I was able to watch both OSU and LSU win their games in what can only be called nail-biters. If I didn't have a heart attack today, I figure I'm good to go for a few years. BTW we just had an earthquake; in Tulsa of all places! Definitely got my attention, but no damage. According to the USGS it was a 5.6, centered about fifty miles West of us.
  6. I'm going to have to check with Glenn on this one. I'm not sure that speaking in tongues is allowed.
  7. I think everyone has made their point here. This thread is now locked.
  8. Yes, "we" become wrinkly with age, and droopy - and that's just the bags under my eyes. The further south you go, the worse it gets.
  9. I found myself in very much the same situation as you, i.e. exposed to the world. Every few minutes a nurse would open the door, but instead of asking if she could help, she would just point and laugh.
  10. Unless your windshield has been tinted, you should have no problem installing the HDS behind the windshield. Many window tints contain metal particles that could interfere with the satellite signals to the GPS. If you think about it, most cars have their portable GPS units mounted behind the windshield. Because the HDS-8 and 10 are rather large, I would be more concerned about the room available to mount the unit behind the windshield.
  11. Be careful of fishing with Roadwarrior. For some reason he has a fetish about stealing boat plugs. I'm not sure what he does with them, but I lost two the last time I fished with him. You will know that he's been up to his tricks when your boat starts taking on water for no apparent reason. The best cure is to have him fish from the front deck with you. That way you can keep an eye on him.
  12. OK, knock it off guys. At the rate things are going, one of you will be saying "My Mother can beat up your Mother."
  13. Thanks, we try to do our best, but the BR members are the best Moderators and they do the job very well. I think preach4bass said it the best when he posted "While BR is always going to be predominately a group of grown men, the family atmosphere leads us to protect the forums in much of the same way we look after our homes. Yes, the mods have to step in from time to time to police the forums, but for the most part, us average Joe members fight for the family we have grown to love. The leadership, vision, and guidelines for use of BR make it clear that this is, and will continue to be, a family forum."
  14. Wine, instead of the hard stuff.
  15. Well, I haven't had a problem with very close veins, but I have had a problem with Peripheral Artery Disease (P.A.D.) The restriction to the blood flow into my legs got to the point that I could walk only fifty yards or so without getting severe cramps in my calves. As a self employed individual, I couldn't afford the cost of health insurance, so I put off treatment until I reached the Golden Age of sixty-five. Why do I call it the Golden Age? Because that's when Medicare kicks in. All of that money that I have been paying in for my entire working life finally comes to fruition. Long story cut short, I was diagnosed as having P.A.D, and have since been through four surgeries to correct the problem. I now feel like a new man. Total cost to Medicare and my supplemental insurance provider (Blue Cross) - $106,224.00. Total cost to me, $0.00.
  16. I simply cannot believe that the Colts have completely fallen apart after the loss of Manning. I'm a Saints fan, and yes they are a very good team, but jeez you would think that the Saints were playing a third-rate college team. The game is far from over, but at this point I feel truly sorry for the Colts. In one season, from the mountain top to the dumpster.
  17. You mofos need to get in the grid! Word!
  18. I suppose throwing them in the trash is out of the question.
  19. Nope. I figure anyone who watches it would have to be one of them.
  20. Well, I'm sixty-five and I'm still having fun.
  21. Trust me. Ghoti is a lot uglier than Big-O. That photo was extensively re-touched to remove the moles, warts, and wrinkles. Further, that bass he caught has been re-touched also. It was only half the size as shown in the photo. Would I lie? Regardless, Gary and I had a great week-end. Gary caught the big one of the trip at about three pounds,
  22. Kent there are times when I wonder what you've been smoking. On the other hand, once I minimized the video so that only the audio remained, I found that she had a pretty good set of pipes. Liked the song. Hated the video.
  23. Great to see you back, Avid!
