  1. I laughed at them and told my buddie," just use a spinnerbait". I do not know what it is but, after he flipped about ten fish in his Skeeter in front of me I said give me one of those things, lol. We were on the Lower Potomac in Washington DC, not far from home, and we waxed them on this bait. I have since bought many and they are awesome on smallmouth on the Susquehanna River in Harrisburg PA as well. Buy some, they work well.
  2. I agree Ronnie, 100%. I used to drag it all to the boat, and use 1/16 of what I lugged around. I take one bag now. I have boxes for the rivers and boxes for the lakes. I have narrowed down what I use most of the time and thats what I take. More room in the boat, lighter load and you don't have to go on those searches for something. I have a pile of bags I keep home. That Okeechobee fits my bill for a day on the water. Now if I could narrow my ton of rods and reels down in my overfilled rod locker I would be set. My rod locker is getting out of hand, lol.
  3. Yea Alpster, I thought the same thing. One lure in the same color and he keeps a whole tackle box full and when they start getting the finish knocked off them he gives them to his friends. Isn't this characterized as Excessive Compulsive Disorder?,LOL. 4. Soft plastics, Gamakatsu G-Lock 4/0. www.gamakatsu.com/catalog/worm.htm
  5. Abu 4600 C4-----eBay has a ton of them.
  6. Wow, it looks a lot bigger with that sow belly in the picture. What do ya mean only a five? I will take all the five smallies you can put me on,lol. Anyway you slice it, its a nice smallie. Good color and fat. Nice job.
  7. Yea Avid. I bend my props on my Torpedo's and such. I like prop baits and have seen the DH over the years and I honestly don't know why I never bought one. I saw some at a tackle shop in Baltimore. Next time I am down I guess I will buy a few. Plus it gives me a excuse to go to the Inner Harbor for some of those Baltimore Crab Cakes, LOL. Thanks muddy--------- www.lurenet.com/catalog.aspx?catid=SmithwickDevil'sHorse
  8. I like the Hula Grubs in Watermelon/red flake. They do smell though so wash your hands before you go home or your honey will question your whereabouts for that day.
  9. Cordell Super Spots and Rattle Traps. In the spring on the Lower Potomac a 1/2oz chrome with a blue back is a killer. I throw the factory hooks in the can when I buy these lures and put on no. 4 Excalibers.
  10. Hey muddy, is it hard to back Rauls tackle box onto the boat? I guess it would be great for climbing on top and use it for sight fishing, ;D
  11. I was cleaning out my fishing closet the other day and had some older issues of Bassmaster Magazine so I looked through some of them. I read a article about a guy whom uses only one lure, period. He has won countless tourneys on this lure and claims that he out fishes most people that go in the boat with him with this one lure. If that isn't enough, he only used one color as well, Tennessee Shad with a orange belly. I have seen these lures before but, never used them. It is the Devils Horse. A prop bait of sorts. Anyone ever thrown them?

I use them in the early prespawn. I have a system. I use mostly Suspending Husky Jerks for smallies and Rogues for largemouth. I have no rhyme or reason for this, its just what I do out of habit I guess. I have caught a lot of green bass on the Rogue in either black and gold or chrome and blue. For the Huskys my color of choice for smallies has always been Tennessee Shad and usually in the no.10 or 12. I use a down deep Husky as well.
  13. Okeechobee tackle bag. It is great. Wal-Mart , 38 bucks.
  14. Mine is very similar to the one in the picture. It is telescopic. I have a duck foot end for mine like the picture as well as a solid rubber end for gravel and rocky bottom and a end with a hook attached. Everyone who fishes the fresh water rivers, tidal creeks or oxbows should have one. They can be a valuable piece of equipment.
  15. That is way too sad man. Goodness knows what that boy endured. I would venture to say there is a good chance he will never recover, at least completely from the things he suffered at the hands of that lowlife. His pain could manifest itself in a thousand different ways. I will pray for him. As for scum bag himself I hope when he goes to jail that he becomes some of those tough gangs girlfriend, if you know what I mean. I hate to feel that way but....
  16. Put the spinning rod down for spinnerbaits and start using a 6' or 6' 6" baitcaster in MH. Only my opinion.
  17. Hands down a top water like a Spook. I love that top water bite.
  18. How about a list like that for smallmouth?
  19. Please buy your horse some rubber non slip horse shoes for backing your boat and trailer in and while taking it out. Those ramps get slippery! ;D

I wish we had more educators like him. He did not need to scream or give disciplinary action. He just used his wits. Funny as heck. ;D
  21. Palomar all the time except for crankbaits I use a Trilene knot and on my Husky Jerks or Rogues I use a loop knot to give the lure more action. The link below is a great site for knots and knot tying. www.netknots.com/html/fishing_knots.html
  22. I am not a crankbait kind of guy but, the baby 1 in firetiger or shad is one of my best baits over shallow submerged grass when a buzzbait is too much noise for them.
  23. Anywhere and anytime there is water with bass in it.
  24. I use these most of the time for smallies when I am wormin, 4" Dead ringer. www.anglersupply.com/product.cfm?model=Dead%20Ringer%204%22&manufacturer=Zoom%20Bait%20Company
