Fished any this December?
This has been the best fishing December since the floods in the 90's as far as numbers and size of smallmouth and largemouth on the Upper Potomac in Maryland. 4" tubes in green pumpkin/red flake, dark melon/purple flake, white 1/4 and 1/2 oz spinnerbaits, Super Flukes in white pearl, and 5-6" Senkos have been the winning baits.

Anybody Fish Senkos With A Weight?
Never, I always fish a Senko weightless. I do fish a green pumpkin/black flake Zoom Centipede wacky style around docks sometimes with a 1/64oz wt. made by Gremlin on 6 or 8 pound test if the water is clear.

Color choice for Senkos?

What do you think is happening with fishing?
I feel that over the next 20 years that our fishing resources are going to take a beating due to environmental changes. We need to address this situation soon. Global warming and letting big industry get away with polluting our waterways, such as in the DC,Virginia, Maryland areas, is setting up a disaster. The federal government rubs the big industries backs in order to gain revenue. As far as bass fishing as a tournament sport, I feel that new venues are going to take over. FLW and BFL are going to be the leaders of the tournament world, as well as some weekend series that will be showing themselves soon. Bassmasters is in trouble since ESPN took over with the 55,000 dollar fees and other seemingly impossible ideas and rules that make the trail so hard to stay in. I guess we will see what comes about. There is always a chance to turn things around.

choppy video playback-computer question
Right on Glenn. Most of my friends call me after the " Shotgun approach ". I tell them to think of PC problems as electrical wiring. Start with the simplest most obvious first and work your way up. Most of the time the problems are simple.

SAD NOTE ON CHRISTMAS JAMES BROWN PASSED
This was a great loss to the music world. He was one of the hardest working entertainers I can recall. He gave a lot. God rest his soul.

So, What Did You Get For Christmas?
I recieved a lot of gifts but, the best of all is my son is home from a 2 year stint in Iraq. The last 8 months of it in Baghdad. He has some things to work out but, he is alive and well. Thank the lord. A parent could not get a better gift than this. Pray for all the parents whom didn't get to have their sons and daughters home and for the many whom never will. Also, pray for all the men and women whom are still there and their familys. God Bless.

More Important to rig? Rod or Reel?
That is a tough question. I lean a little to the rod if I have to chose one but, I don't think you can look at your equipment that way. I think ReelMech said it all. I think it is a combination of your whole setup. Reel, rod, line, hooks, etc. Buy what is right for the application your intend it for, what feels comfortable to you and the setup that keeps you connected and to help interpret what you are feeling in that underwater environment. Also, chose the best you can afford. As they say, you only get what you pay for.Good luck.

hard jerkbait setup
When I use a jerkbait, as in a Husky Jerk or Rogue, I mostly use a short rod,6' spinning with a MH fast action and #8 test. Also, if I am around a lot of trash such as weeds or wood I switch to a 6' MH baitcasting rod with about 8" of soft tip and use #14 or #15 test. I do not like a short rod and most of the time I use a 6'6" or 7' rod but, in a jerkbait situation I point the rod tip down and twitch my bait. This is just what works for me.

A Few Words for Christmas
Amen. Nice words. I lost my best friend two weeks ago and it hurts. I think time and remembering the good times is all that will help and knowing that she is in a better place. Our faith keeps us going. Without it, there is nothing.

LARGE spool spinning reels. Any recommendations?
Buy the Shimano Stradic 4000 series. You will be pleased.
-
President or Sedona?
Come up with a few more bucks and buy a Stradic. It will be worth it. Look on eBay.
