Not much of a difference, save for the fact that the JDM market usually gets reels and rod before we do. I've had some JDM Steez rods for a couple years that still aren't available here. Also my JDM Aldebaran came out last year, the Core 50 is just now available here.

Awesome reel. Lightweight and can cast a country mile. My only gripe is the typical Shimano play in the handle.

I own both Techna's and Kistler rods. Techna hands down. The rod is lighter, more sensitive, and honestly I think it is the most undervalued and underappreciated rod made. You will be very happy with it.

I have the JDM version of the new Core50, called the Aldebaran. Great reel, it's grown on me more and more with use. Also pairs very nicely with the BCR.

BCR893 BLX is by far my favorite GLoomis rod, RW. I have mine paired with a Steez 103 as well. I sent my BCR to Matt Davis, he's had the rod for just about a year now - he's turning it into something a little more special...
