  1. Light color with dark color, they will breed eventually but not as bad as regular plastic. I have white mix with dark blue and it become sky blue. Just like the one mentioned keep in its own bag is the way to go. I do have some that stick together but never have one that I cannot separate.
  2. And yet again I lost the battle with that bait monkey. Just got myself a nice core 50mg7, don’t know why since I have reels those size like 6-7 reels already. I guess my golf launch monitor/simulator have to wait a little longer ???
  3. Yellow Wood glue would be fine, plenty strong since you have good surface to glue. If that bother you just cut the broken section out to salvage them. Nice job by the way.
  4. Which parts? If it is bearing might be cheaper to shop somewhere else. Shimano is pretty quick but you pay shipping cost.
  5. Never say enough but ones have things more important in life. I haven’t bought new reels or rods for awhile now, I even walked away from a good deal on reels that I really wanted. My wife gave me a permission for another Zillion SV TW, but I decided not to. How many setups do I have? as my wife always said “too many” which will cover me from 1/16oz all the way to 2.5oz lures. I may win the bait monkey this round but I doubt it’s gonna be forever.
  6. Really depends on what are you gonna use the reels for. If you plan to use with bigger line like 20-25lb then 200 K would benefit for more line capacity. The DC and 200K are pretty much the same frame and weight class. If you wanna venture into different type bait, smaller size frame and less weight (more comfortable to move the rod around) then look at Curado 150 MGL. If you wanna get into more setups and cover all type of fishing you ever need and with the budget of DC, you might be able to get both SLX XT and SLX MGL.
  7. Just a suggestion, how about keeping last hour fish instead of first one you catch? Unless you plan to keep all the fish. Another way is floating basket, mark spot, come back when you done. I normally don’t keep fish, if I plan to keep, mostly crappie, I’ll wait until almost time to go home and pick only a couple that big enough. I gutted hook bass a few times, if I cannot remove the hook, I’d end my fishing trip right there. I don’t want to waste the fish by leaving in the sun or throw back in water.
  8. You can use one rod for everything you listed, Yes but use it effectively, I doubt it. Using too soft rod for jig and you would overloaded the rod tip and might not feel subtle bites. Using too stiff rod and your fluke or jerkbait might become pulling instead of jerking into natural action. And both rod might not be able to cast 1/16 Ned rig very well. When ppl talking about Ned they might think of 1/4-1/10oz head but to me Ned is strictly 1/16oz. The rod that I might actually used for most everything you listed except jig is Shimano Crucial Gen2 1/8-3/8oz. I have Zodias ML 6’10 as replacement, the rod is excel for fluke/Senko or jerkbait but too stiff for Ned and too soft for 1/4oz jig. Crucial M gen 3 might be okay for jig, topwater and Senko but not as good as jerkbait rod and definitely not for Ned. To me Jig i always use one rod. Fluke/jerkbait another rod Senko and top water I don’t care as long as I can cast the lure well enough. BTW the new Curado series might be able to compare to old Zodias. I would get ML if you are really into jerkbait and Fluke. M if you will throw more of 1/4oz jig Senko and topwater. None of these for Ned unless you are talking heavier than 1/16oz.
  9. No regrets at all. Yes I used hole saw, I believe 1.5” for the butt and 1” for the top and finished it up with jig saw. If you have a router you would get cleaner cut and less to none sanding. I think I left 5” between each hole. Don’t use plywood it is harder to sand down sharp edge, I think I use pine wood but if I have to do again I would use poplar wood. The top piece, if you do one direction ( like your first link) you can convert to wall hanger ( I did one for a friend that way)
  10. I have gone to diy route as the first link. I installed mine under diy wooden storage, so the hight is perfect that I don’t need steps and not bumping into it too easily. It is very easy to do and not taking a lot of time at all. I could add felt as rod protection but I just sand all the sharp edge and clear coat it. I leave gap that I could have rod with reel on and not bumping each other.
  11. Show my face once in a while, man I’m getting old ???, but still kicking. Torn between hitting some golf balls or go fishing with only an hour of sunlight left. I’m glad i went fishing with this only bass.
  12. If I have to, I will use Rapala loop knot for my crappie jig and that only type lure I use loop knot for, these days. The other lures like crankbait or top water always come with split ring for easier tie knot no need for loop knot whatsoever, you can also replace the split ring with snap for even easier to tie knot. Nowadays especially on the water I don’t tie loop knot anymore and I can’t really tell if loop knot is that better than regular knot. Another thing that is also a myth and I don’t see any proof yet, the bigger the loop the less sensitivity of the line.
  13. I like mine enough feel very solid, smooth, and cast very well. It is a tad heavy though. I use mine for Texas rig, jig and chatterbait. On the other hand Metanium should feel the same but a lot lighter.
  14. Zman The deal or Yamamoto Shad color, is really surprised me here but not in a good way. I used to catch plenty of fish elsewhere with this color, but here doesn’t seem to work quite as well.
  15. Me 2021 Anything top water - 0 Chatterbait/spinnerbait - 0 Crankbait - 0 Texas rig 0 Big swimbait 1 Paddle tail swimbait 3 Dark sleeper 2 Jerkbait 3 lipless crank 6 Jig - less than 10 Dropshot - quite a few weightless worm - a lot Neko rig - a ton Fat Ika - a ton x 2
  16. Agreed with @newapti5in CQ200. The 100 only hold 10lb 110 yds while 200 you can get 12lb 130yds or you can up size to 15lb and still have enough line capacity. The new conquest, Shimano designed palm side plate to be smaller than handle side plate for more compact and more comfortable when palming. I think the CQ100 as small as old CQ50.
  17. I use jointed minnow with some success. I have J07 for all around especially when bass boiling on top for Shad, and J11 when target bigger one looking for bluegill.
  18. Inshore rod can make a good all around catfish rod. It is a lot lighter than those fiberglass using for giant catfish. I have two, a Baitcaster and a spinning that I use for catfish drifting and bank fishing. At least now you and some others know that Inshore rod is for that “inshore saltwater”.
  19. I use whatever color that available from Sufix832, Nanofil and Power Pro. Meaning I don’t care much about color but quality of braid. Those 3 combined of color and characteristics of braid give me many choices that I know what lb I’m using. Drak green, yellow, coastal blue, blue red, white. Chartreuse.
  20. To sum up and show my agreement. I got 3 OG tatula 7’1MH/XF and 2x6’10 MH/F. Love these 3 rods, light weight, exceptional sensitivity and balance well. I use these three rods for a lot of thing, don’t let MH rate fool you. I use them all from 1/8oz Texas rig, Senko, 3/8jig and 1oz topwater. I got all mine well under MSRP price but for you it is gonna be hard to find now unless you are looking for used one. The new tatula shouldn’t be that bad just a bit heavier than OG. For the reel SLX is the way to go. The most comfortable palming, excellent casting, light enough weight and built for last. Yes I have more expensive rods and especially reels, but are they better? I doubt it. I don’t mind at all to own a few more SLX.
  21. They stock Santa Ana river already? I really wanna try float tube for trout there. Never fish for bass there but which lake did you tried? I’ve heard the smaller lake is better for bass. I still can catch bass on my lake, mostly small 1-2.5lb and most fish caught in the evening.
  22. For yo-yoing retrieve, I like red eyes Shad a lot especially 1/4oz. I don’t use many brand though just some luckycraft, rat-l-trap Rapala and cheap old cotton Cordell.
  23. The good thing, at least you ordered brand new from reputable place and they are taking care of the problem. Imagine if you buy used from someone else. Anyway Let us know how it works for you when new one get here.
  24. Did you order the bushing or washer? It is very common for knob with bushing to have some wiggle doesnt matter what price, Stradic is one using 1 bushing and 1 bearing. you can eliminate wiggle by replacing bushing with bearing (4x7x2.5) or add washer.
  25. Today using my SLX in early morning. The reel and my hand got really wet and I had kind of same problem with “thumb bar struck” many times. I had to manually push the thumb bar back in place. BTW, The k and SLX use the same style thumb bar. The difference is I don’t have problem, when playing around or when my hand dry. I will have to open it up to see what is going on, but my first impression is, the thumb bar on SLX is really in high position, when my thumb on spool, part of my finger is right on top on thumb bar. The second thought is spring might not be strong enough to push the thumb bar back in place even with light pressure. I might be wrong though, I hardly have this problem with all my Shimanos, but a few times with old Daiwa pixy.
