Beavers
it would be a long shot but I have seen a few studies where bobcat urine deterred groundhog chewing . Problem is it washes off every time it rains. I’m still saying wrap the tree, worked well anywhere I’ve ever tried it

@AlabamaSpothunter, only a very, very small portion of tax dollars goes to Twra and it’s only a tax from purchasing fishing or hunting gear (see wallop/Breaux and dingell/johnson acts). They are funded almost completely by license sales and boat renewals (which are going up again this year). They were 8 million bucks in the hole last year and they don’t spray the grass, that is privately contracted out by TVA

He does his own taxidermy and is mounting that fish and the 7/11. (Skin mounts, not replica) He’s still waiting on DNA tests for possible record on that larger one from last year. He let the SMB go but said the govt recommends removing the meanmouth, I assumed since it’s a hybrid it can’t reproduce 🤷🏼

I’d say that’s excessive
Much lighter! My canoe is heavier than yours but 53 lbs (aluminum). My wife’s kayak weighs in at around a sports hernia (89 lbs). I’ve got a pretty good method for cartopping it that I developed out of necessity, it involves a pivot and you need a car you don’t mind scratching and denting. The canoe I can easily pick up and set on the rails both are much easier to toss into the bed of my truck but the Honda mpg is much nicer

That happened to some guy in the NPFL last year and they gave the $100,000 to the guy in 2nd place because the winner forgot his license

Went fishing this weekend both days. Went to the lakehouse to grab my wife’s kayak, paddled it across glass slick waters to load it up on the daily driver Honda and go to a different ramp on the same lake where people are catching nice big smallies. Somehow this access point was in a sunny hurricane with the wind blowing the same direction as the current. Two older guys with a huge boat were sitting in the parking lot saying it was too windy, and here I am with a kayak. Well two of my buddies pulled up with a bass tracker so I left the kayak in the parking lot and hopped in with them. Right as we are about to launch, a guy pulls up and asks if we have a scale. He had a 22” 6 lb 10 oz meanmouth and two other really nice smallmouth. Said he had launched at 3 am trying to catch walleye haha. Anyway here’s a pic of that monster so now we are fishing, but can’t do a thing on the main channel with the wind and current going through same direction. We retreated to a creek arm I knew held small largemouth and caught a bunch of those, better than braving the sunny hurricane so Sunday rolls around and I can’t stop thinking about the potential for PB so I go back to the same spot in the pouring rain, this time the wind isn’t blowing tho. I paddled upstream and broke off a fish , re rigged and found out why I broke off, I was amongst the toothy critters. Got one for the ice box !

2025 elite schedule
No back tracking here. what I’m getting at is they would rather lose a practice day (2 instead of 3) in the event of bad weather than to have to travel back home for a couple days, then come back to NY, TX, wherever a week later. my previous statement merely stated that I think (don’t know) that everyone loses a practice day in the event of bad weather, not just the top 10 of the previous event on back to backs the reason they have back to back events, like @casts_by_fly stated, is so that anglers and personnel don’t have to double their travel time and costs. The potential of losing a practice day or even competition day because of weather is minimal compared to having to drive across the country twice while trailering a boat back to back events are good for the angler and the staff

Giant Trevally
I came across a study conducted on the possible consequences of catch and release fishing for giant trevally, somewhat interesting read https://www.umass.edu/news/article/uncovering-hidden-consequences-catch-and-release-sport-fishing#:~:text=Taken together%2C all of this, the problems of hook shyness.

Thank you, That’s about how I figured it as well. They’d probably rather potentially lose a practice day than have to drive across the country two extra times or incur lodging expenses for an extra week or two
