  1. Meanwhile in TN we had an air conditioner freeze over at work yesterday afternoon and it almost hit 80 degrees outside. Reminds me of Halloweens when I was a kid sweating like crazy in costumes
  2. If I’ve learned anything from bass resource, it’s that most fans of tournament fishing are always upset about something. But they can’t stop following every detail, it’s a vicious cycle 😂
  3. RIP, always enjoyed his reports .
  4. Salzman said he turned down his BPT invite to go fish BASS opens
  5. @Fishlegs, you guessed it ! Didn’t really do much from guntersville downstream. If it did make it all the way to Pickwick, it would be standard operating procedure as y’all seem to get 15 floods per year haha. “Just dump all that water in Savannah, TN, they are used to it “
  6. @Fishlegs, I was on the Holston because the TN river is still destroyed up this way but it’s looking better everyday. Not quite as chocolate as it has been all month but still wads of stuff coming down
  7. Yea sir!! I remember that one in your pic, that’s a dang horse. And gar are tough as nails, can’t lay a muskie on the ground and take a picture
  8. never thought I’d live to see the day Well it’s a miracle, I caught 3 bass on a spinnerbait and two of them were pretty good ones. Much like last time I caught fish with spinnerbait (couple years ago), I saw the bass chasing shad before I caught them. One was 2.98 lbs and maybe 18-19” (couldn’t find the tape quickly ) and the other was 16-17” . The third was a littler fella. I had the lure tied to my catfish rig from last week when the wind was blowing , 50 lb segaur tactx braid. Not exactly a traditional spinnerbait setup but it worked, pitching the bait up into a creek mouth under some limbs. Water temp 66 with 3-4 ft visibility, no wind
  9. I caught 3 in a row with a spinnerbait tonight, im in shock
  10. Gimme them birds!!!
  11. My cousin killed a small doe with a bow , he hunts to eat
  12. I just told everyone to watch for bones and i spit them out, seems like out of 6 of us I was the only one getting any bones. I’ve also pan fried and eaten the fillets with a fork. I did cut them up into small chunks before deep frying like you would catfish so it was easier to see the pieces with tons of bones and throw them out
  13. I def found them much easier to harvest in MN, there was one tricky set of regs that I think was on rainy lake but it still allowed to harvest some small ones. Michigan the only place I could keep the small ones was the inland lakes of isle royale, Lake Superior itself they had to be 24”. I caught one off a dock that was pretty close but it took me forever to get the hook out and my measuring tape was in a backpack so I just let it go. The thing sat there motionless on the bottom, upright in clear water. Then it was magically gone
  14. I’d weigh 500 lbs eating fried fish everyday if we had pike haha. Most of our easy to catch fish have limits that prevent easy consumption (except white bass)
  15. I love pike! Aggressive fish that you can catch, hold, and even eat without the scrutiny associated with their esox cousins
  16. Extremely common occurrence on the TN river in fall, don’t feel bad. Usually a jig or Texas rig is what I go for , show them something different because you can’t beat the real thing another option is throwing a spoon deep under the blitz, although it gets walloped by big catfish often
  17. I used to be able to say the wind never blows from the east where I live but it sure has this year
  18. Everyone is different but a vacation would be the absolute worst time for me to clear my head and think
  19. Fishing my own way is the only way I’ve ever done any good at all, trying other peoples stuff is almost always a failure
  20. Trying to clear the neighbors tree without the logs going downhill at warp speed, tried to build a little barrier but one got away last week
  21. Paddled around a ways this morning from the dock, leaves are starting to get pretty . Made it out to main channel and tossed a light carolina rig and caught 5 or 6 small ones, gamakatsu nano alpha 1/0 and black zoom finesse worm
