Hurricane Helene
I stand corrected, the Cajun navy is there with a team of mules delivering insulin and other supplies . Great humans like @Catt know what’s up heard from my aunt and uncle in Brevard and they are ok. No power but alive and safe

I bet that one tasted good.
I’ve been known to dabble in some 15”+ jumbo perch, don’t even have to walk on ice got an even bigger one somewhere along the way pushing 3 lbs but it was back in the flip phone days and the picture was lost in translation

😂, 6mph is probably crawling in slow motion to a smallmouth

The other question is : do they work soaking wet or after being submerged ? I’ve gotten gas ones to run after accidentally swimming with them (electrofishing) ive been hearing lithium batteries are a fire hazard when wet might be a moot point regardless because if any of these folks had a generator it’s in New Orleans by now

I talked to a guy from the guard that had been to Newport, TN over the weekend but I don’t how that is related to the rest of the military @flatcreek

Hurricane Helene
Hurricanes do happen every year but this never has. Kind of hard to prepare for something that has never happened. Nobody can get gas for the generator and I’m guessing the solar models wouldn’t have worked until maybe today

The fed has a lot of folks helping as well as the state the Cajun navy would be all over it as well if the roads were open you are correct @Functional, the news teams couldn’t get a hotel with power or water within 2 hours

This time of year
I saw a picture of a monster killed online the other day , 183&3/8. You can find them in the warm season if you really want to , heck here are even velvet hunts available in many southern states now during late August

@thediscochef, I believe they said it was the most water in the French broad since 1791. It floods constantly but that was a doozie Chattanooga, on the other hand, has had a 500 yr flood event 30-40 times in the last 100 yrs (they might should change the naming process……)

A-Rigs… do I need to try one?
I’ll say no. Just feels silly and wrong to me when casting it and the fish I’ve caught are hooked all over the body. Seems like a dragging hook apparatus (and we can only Use 3 hooks) im glad tourney trails banned it, I think they did it for optics not state regs. Dangle a bunch of baits off a chandelier and drag the waters for bass doesn’t look that good to me, more fit for tuna in the deep blue seas. I change the channel when I see tactical bassin throwing them over and over and over

A Season Without Livescope (Thoughts)
I don’t even have it and it has taught me plenty, a lot of those articles we read back in the day were slightly bogus 😂

The amount of water going over the nolichucky dam was double the highest amount that has ever gone over Niagara Falls . The TVA dams all start downstream of there and do an absolutely magnificent job of storing flood water. They are the only reason Knoxville and Chattanooga aren’t perpetually under water. I wonder if they can extend their reach into NC? They could definitely use a taller dam and bigger lake on the nolichucky in TN and it probably would hurt to have one somewhere upstream of Asheville . People got upset when TVA took their land but it was for a very good reason, the Appalachians have been flooding since forever. Before TVA, East TN was a bunch of failing farms constantly being washed away

I bet that one tasted good.
You can’t wash off E. coli and they farm a lot more than just produce I can count on zero fingers the number of people I’ve heard of getting sick from eating catfish they caught but the list of people that got sick from grocery store and restaurant food is a very long one

I’d love to hear those stories and see the photos! We’ve got similar ones in my family, most from coalfield, TN and wise, VA

A Season Without Livescope (Thoughts)
I fished a whole season without a trolling motor and I think I caught more . I just kneeled down on the front of the boat and paddled. For those that say you can’t paddle a bass boat, I wouldn’t want them helping me hauling stuff to the dump if you know what I mean 😂

Perhaps even worse ? We will probably never know the truth with the amount of money involved
