  1. I’ve eaten a good many fish eggs……. I’m the worst!!! bass eat their own young so I don’t lose too much sleep over it I don’t think I prepare them properly but they aren’t bad, taste like fish. We’ve tried white bass and crappie. Up where my brother lives in Philly the shad roe from deleware river is a prized possession. Here on the TN river it’s paddlefish eggs that people are after, it’s a short season and they fish hard for them. Apparently it’s high dollar food as well. The game wardens keep a close eye where they target paddlefish
  2. It’s a lot easier than cutting a road open
  3. I can use pieces of dog food for treats, our dogs go absolutely crazy for anything. I’ll usually give them trimmings when I’m cleaning fish , they also lose their mind over ham. And yes all 3 spoiled rotten and need petted 24/7. They have trained me instead of vice versa
  4. @deep is back!!!
  5. @gimruis, yeah there is a thread (or two) on here about it as well
  6. Just realized those pics were from April 17-18 2021 , good time to be there. Although I recall forgetting my sleeping bag and sleeping in my boat bibs and rain coat, I froze And here’s the pic of that smallie when I first caught it, before it rode back to camp in the livewell and got its tiger stripes
  7. We were in the “totality “ area for the last one in 2017, it was pretty crazy. Had a bunch of buddies fishing during it and they were biting , even on an ultra bright summer day
  8. I’m always trying to get live Shad, they are magical fish catchers
  9. It’s mostly spots in there but some nice smallies. That one pictured was actually drab when I caught it, no stripes. I brought I back to the campsite to eat it and the girls let it go because it was pretty. Then they ate 3 spots and said they wished they hadn’t have let the SMB go 😂 I also caught a jammer white bass that trip I can’t find the pic of . There were a bunch of them running up that creek I couldn’t get to bite. Finally used weightless fluke and they instantly inhaled it
  10. No it doesn’t make sense, the devil Alabama bass were supposed to eat all the LM according to science 😂
  11. I think ours starts April 13 or 14 this year, I don’t hunt but I’ll show y’all some pics of what my friends shoot. And hopefully some fried nuggets or grilled kabob photos
  12. Got me a nice bait and dragged it around for a while, no takers . Somehow released alive after all that
  13. @PourMyOwn, that sounds like a sweet ride!!!!
  14. It’s a 12 out of 10 on beautiful
  15. Gizzards have a thread on their fin too the blunt nose is the best indicator of a gizzard for me, as well as the drab sides and excessive slime here’s a threadfin I snagged the other day , they are much prettier fish with more colors and a pointier nose. Also it’s rare if not impossible for threadfin to reach the size of the one you snagged with steelshad . Gizzards can be like 3 lbs
  16. I love Fontana . I don’t think it’s known as great fishing but I’ve caught some nice ones, it’s not very farm from me at all, treacherous drive tho
  17. You have indeed always said this and I have always agreed. Bass don’t have to do what humans think they should do . deep water is still the home of the fish after all these years unless of course deep water is unavailable, then they live where they are 😂
