It was 40 degrees at sunrise here this morning, water was 74 degrees. Here’s what that created I almost drove onto dry land twice at 1.9 mph

That can be surprisingly effective! Lots of people on here slay fish without depth finders at all

I fished once as a co angler in a BFL once and the negative was me being a scaredy cat riding shotgun 70 mph over yacht waves and the boater being right next to the bank all day. The positive was learning a lot about all the points/creeks/etc on the reservoir and catching 20-25 non keepers . And the freebies, there are always a few

I’m not on board with “irreplaceable,” we underestimate all wildlife especially r selected species versus k selected species im guessing people said the exact same type stuff when the first fish finders came out. That’s pretty funny. I bet if you give me FFS and tell me to go catch something to eat, I’m guaranteed to come back empty handed. It ain’t easy I’ve been in a boat with livescope and I can’t read it to save my life, I catch fish much easier without it

I don’t have to believe him and he doesn’t have to believe me. It’s ok to disagree. I also have a degree in fisheries science so far they are saying based on 2-3 lakes in NC, all smallies are on borrowed time. Also saying a fishery will be certainly doomed, gone forever and never to return is just hyperbole. Nobody knows the future, they are almost always wrong about invasive species and thirdly, the biologists in my state just got called out by a former employee for publishing erroneous data

Nope sure don’t believe him. He sounds like a psychic with a crystal ball, foremost my foot. I posted a link to Toledo bend regs that included Alabama bass, you can’t tell them apart by just looking ^bingo. They always throw out that “we will lose billions” just like the Asian carp that they were so afraid of, even tho they could have just closed the locks and stopped them immediately.

My buddy made it into town from Memphis about 12:30 pm Friday and I finally got home from work at 1. We hooked up the shallow boat and motored up thru some skinny water and were met immediately by hungry small fish. We ended up catching 39 but the last two I got were pretty nice, an 18” and 16.75”. Also got to see a nice sunset and a double rainbow once the rain finally stopped So today we hook up the bigger boat and we’ve got all day. We went to different area, still shallow but not as shallow, thus allowing the bigger more comfy vessel. My buddy was on fire early catching lots of fish. We got all kind of 15-16” today that were fighting very hard . We ended up with 38 between 3 of us today but that was a 12 hour trip. Went from jeans and a jacket in the morning to shorts for wading then back to jeans and jacket for the evening. Air was cool today and wind was whipping . Round 3 tomorrow from 7:30-11 am or so then back to the real world
