  1. I learned the tactic in 4-5 feet of water in lake Toho, FLA hahah
  2. I don’t need live scope to see that, I just get my crappie jigs all stuck in it
  3. I’ve seen people snag them with FFS haha Paddlefish is delicious by all first hand accounts, so is sturgeon. Then there is the ultra valuable caviar in each fish, now that actually is terrible
  4. It’s a solid tournament producer, always has been. People even use it up north quite a bit for smallmouth on tour
  5. Buy some? Heck I’ve been harboring c rig stuff since 1990
  6. Carolina rig is underrated!
  7. Love those. My buddy throws the 5” and absolutely slays the summertime river smallies
  8. Yeah I know what you mean, I don’t try fish unless I have to. Abrams is full of smallmouth up to the ranger station and a little bit upstream to the campground. Single hook artificial lures only but you can have a barb
  9. Lemme know if you need me to drop in a check on his progress hahah. I go by there daily on my work route
  10. I use mostly spinning but gotta have a few baitcasters for topwater plugs, rattle traps, etc
  11. Some Guy named frank deals those boats in my hometown of Maryville, TN
  12. Get well soon Catt!! Mine locks up from time to time, rest is all I can do to fix it
  13. Been tough, they just had the bassmaster classic here. They are biting plastics pretty well but mostly 1 lbers
  14. Fontana lake, chilhowee lake, and abrams creek are the only bass waters I can think of in the park (and the lakes are on the border). You can also catch a few tiny smallies here and there on little river, west prong and middle prong little pigeon river, oconoluftee river, and maybe deep creek. The big pigeon is excellent smallmouth fishing but I guess it’s outside the park a bit . unfortunately you are correct, most fishing inside the park is for silly trout. They are not stockers tho, so they are generally starving to death and will readily hit flies all summer on the outside edges of the park, the bass possibilities are endless
  15. Holler if you need some pointers! I’ve done some backpacking but my friends have done it all. Several of them just completed their 900 miles, which is all of the hiking trails on the national park
  16. Kind of, it’s more the Cherokee national forest but they are very close to each other. Same mtns different name, that’s looking just slightly south of the border of the great smoky mtns national park so I think most of it would be the Cherokee national forest. My buddies are camping up there now hunting turkeys
  17. You could see all the individual ridges/drains to the left on Sunday morning before the humidity and pollen got up into the air
  18. This is always the worst time of year for me so I don’t classify it as magical! Haha. Sounds like you’ve had great success, I’d keep doing whatever you are doing
  19. I’d get motion sick trying to hit it. My buddy from high school threw what he called a knuckle curve, might have been akin to a circle change, looked easy to hit but wasn’t
  20. I did fall off a ladder at work and knocked myself silly, so only 99% of workdays are better than getting hooked in the nose. now that I’ve typed that, I got hooked in the nose working as a guide once but it was a tiny fly and came out
  21. Upon second look he definitely snapped it off with some spin!
  22. Dang that was a funky pitch!! I’m calling it a knuckleball not a curve
