Heck we were dead center Tennessee river where barges run

We encountered one of those this spring. They have time trails every Wednesday in downtown Knoxville. They were warming up and I was riding in my buddies bass boat, heading down river bout 40 mph. A kayaker was DETERMINED to cross the river perpendicular right in front of us . No clue why, guess he had a death wish or was fluffing himself up like a gobbler strutting in spring. here comes a bass boat, let me intentionally paddle as hard as I can right into their path. It reminded me of those people you see walk behind a box truck that’s backing up with a loud beeping sound and reverse lights

That’s cool! So instead of having to look it all up and track down documents, they might have just told you about it over dinner! Haha

That sounds much more on par with real life. The rumors I always hear are $80-$90/hour for welding, thank goodness I didn’t believe them and quit my job haha

Well rumor on the street is starting welders make a massive fortune. Your real life experience holds more water haha I hear a lot about all these entry jobs that pay way more than what I’ve made my whole career, unfortunately the people telling the stories don’t offer the jobs and it’s usually about half the pay when you call and ask

It’s a common theme, the old timers in the breakfast joints around here say every year the lake is the lowest they’ve ever seen it. It’s because they don’t remember last year haha

I’d like to see an insurance man calculate the damage a 1/2 jig causes to a pontoon boat. I mean what maybe 35 cents worth? Heck if you broke the jig off around the steering wheel, you are out more than the homeowner. This stupidity walks all over me

See that’s just stupid. A dock contains probably 2,000 big nails, lag screws, splinters, etc. He doesn’t have to clear stuff for his kids to swim, he just wanted to show his backside. if there’s someone’s hook on my dock, Yee haw free hook. Jerkbait even better

Smallmouth seems to love suspending during falling water. Are we talking rainfall rising it or normal seasonal fluctuations between winter/summer pool?

I’ve told my story a few times on here, my aunt did all the legwork. Pretty interesting! She gives presentations on how to track down all this stuff, military records, pensions, family bibles, etc. A lot of good info burns up in fires over time so it gets tricky She’s in the DAR and we are considered a “first family” of TN (which only means we lived here before it was a state). We came in violation of the proclamation of 1763, Woopsie this is my great great (lots of greats?) grandfather, she tracked down his widow’s pension from there we floated down the Holston river a bit to three springs, TN which is now on Cherokee lake . There is a Cobb island named after I would assume Pharaoh Cobb, it was called Cobb landing before they flooded the lake there were even some fishermen had people fight both sides of the civil war. One of my cousins has dual membership is the sons of the union and sons of the confederacy. They weren’t kidding when they said brother vs brother in history class Here’s the family tree, I’m sure I’ve messed up some details. Raymond Cecil woods was my grandad
