Spare Prop
Yea I would say get to shore, trim all the way up, and cut the wheel all the way. You should be basically holding the lower unit with your feet on shore, or somewhat close to it. But that why I said you’ll probably touch some rocks in the process, I would only do it if I can’t limp her back to the truck. I think I’ve always made it back in with my outboard but I keep a spare anyway. I’ve had to change them out in the river at least twice in my small boat, once after dark in the middle of a swift shoal that’s about a mile long………… had to walk thru about 75 feet of the river knee deep in blue jeans in March while dragging the boat, slight miscalculation .

Spare Prop
I was talking about changing an outboard prop on the water, that’s why you have to get to dry land. You can change the trolling motor prop in the middle of the ocean I could trim my outboard all the way up and change the prop but it would be very ridiculous and tricky and the prop nut would have a 67% chance of ending up in the lake and then we are paddling haha

Spare Prop
Stand on dry land with the bow facing out for prop change while afield, you’ll have to touch your boat to a rock tho…… I’ve got a spare prop in both my boats, actually two extra ones in the shallow water vessel

Wind direction?
I will also add a personal edit…….. Starting from the arrow coming thru lake superior and chicago and working counter clockwise………. 1) fishing is fine but you’re going to be cold 2) fishing will be a little better, and slightly warmer 3) fishing will be good and the rains they are predicting will break up before they arrive 4) fishing will be good, lightning thunder and tornado are all on the table 5) fishing will be good, but your rear end and all your fish hooks will be completely soaked 6) fishing might still be ok but hurricane remnants will make it tricky 7) the wind shouldn’t blow backwards, call the cops 8) Prepare immediately for what happens after you’re dead

Winter 2022-23
Y’all have fun with all that!!! Been fairly warm down here (now I’ve jinxed it) we had a decent snowfall in mid March last year. And the most snow we’ve had in most people’s lives was also mid March, 24” in 1993

my kayak fish finder is getting JANKY, what was it like fishing without one?
Just cast around , you’ll find em. Two of my buddies that fished with me yesterday were just enjoying the sunshine and not even casting much (granted there were whitecaps….) john Cox makes big money on the BASS elite series, mostly with his units turned off. Wacky rig, jig, crankbait. He throws shallow and they eat I catch some nice fish while standing on a rock still to this very day, oh the humanity
