There are lots of possums in every area 😂. Those things can’t get get out of traffic so their life strategy is just make more possums . I’ve seen one with a litter of babies on her back and a younger litter in the pouch.

My buddy threw a popper by a laydown and a fish made a massive splash trying to grab it but missed completely. He threw back in and got it the next cast with the same popper! “Follow up” bait can be the same one twice. 19” SMB

Ran into a long one this evening , thought I had a drum but it launched itself airborne. Turned out to be a very nice smallmouth. I should have gotten a better measurement but I think it was pushing 21”+, definitely over 20”. I got it with a smaller watermelon fluke on a jighead. Nice work! Do you think the water still being warmish at 70 is why you are just now getting into the smallies? I know you’ve gotten them earlier in past years. Also, I’m with you on soft plastic durability. That’s why all my worms are plastisol, I’m not paying extra for one they cut in half and it melts in the sun.
