It is fairly hard to accurately monitor good spawn years versus bad spawn years. Most people, including biologists, are just guessing. I fish probably a dozen different rivers and I don’t think I’ve ever noticed a gap in age class on any of them

I was putting down some vinyl plank flooring and whacked the end of my finger tip with a dead blow hammer. It just made a big flapper piece come off, made me more queasy than it actually hurt.

Yes I throw them for smallies. Unfortunately the smallies have yet to notice

Haha! That’s in the back of the creek I grew up fishing. I don’t think I’ve ever caught a big bass in there, it’s stumps for miles. I’ve tried really hard for 30 or so years. The rest of the area is deep clear water with no timber, fish like that much better for whatever reason . as soon as you get away from those stumps, it’s constant jet ski traffic and boat docks. Apparently the fish prefer jet skis to beautiful standing timber

Stoneroller is crack cocaine to a river smallmouth trying to figure out where threadfin and gizzard are located on TN river is easy: everywhere

I would pull over and get out but it can be done haha. If you can get any stonerollers in those small waters you fish, well you better hang on!

Why no cast net? Only way I’ve ever heard to catch them without a net is the sabiki
