  1. I’ve always tried this with gas motor for bass (2 mph) and electric motor for crappie . What I always find is they won’t bite when I cast, but they will always keep biting if I keep trolling. I feel like this means what is triggering the bite is the lure whizzing by quickly.
  2. I also keep all mine bare bones. That way loading, unloading , and cartopping are quick and easy
  3. Cool! I think we reportedly only have the ruby throated ones over this way, and maybe another but I can’t recall
  4. Well largemouth are native to most of US and common carp aren’t native to anywhere in the US. So basically what you said is not only unpopular but completely incorrect
  5. If I threw a big spook on my $13 fiberglass spinning rods they would snap!! MH baitcaster throws them plenty far, sometimes into the top of a tree . I even throw Zara puppy on baitcaster, one time this joker grabbed it in a set of rapids, yee haw
  6. It will slice the fingers off your hand before it breaks!
  7. You ain't kidding, Geese can take down 747s!
  8. Culverts are also my favorite. A single log (whole tree) out off the bank in deep water is usually good too , but they don't stay put long. Bluff walls on the main channel has to be up there as well
  9. Nice work, enjoy the crappie meal!
  10. White bass is bass! At least taxonomically.......... nice fishes
  11. Nice!
  12. Fished a tournament today, lots of boats! We weighed in 4 bass for 5.88, unfortunately couldn’t keep any of the smallies (even though I think the one I got was a meanmouth, the guy measuring had never heard of meanmouth). Fun times anyway, it’s not like we had a chance to win . Fish were eating flukes all day, of course y’all know I did most of my damage with a purple worm. Keepers have to be 14” largemouth and 18” smallmouth and of course we got lots of 13” and 17” fish
  13. Yep! Dead stuff........ the deader the better
  14. You must know a secret! Our dogs smell consistently awful............. they do have a fenced in area to woller in all day, probably doesn’t help. It looks like Area 51 with some strange weedy vegetation dissected by game trails and underground bunkers
  15. Derby day! (Isnt that what the pros say?)Fishing my 3rd bass tournament this morning
  16. I took my old fishing buddy captain Kenny to get cataract surgery on both eyes. His was a remarkable improvement but I believe he had avoided the surgery until he was basically blind. The doctors would say everybody come in here you’ve got to see how bad this cataract is! Seems like he had the textbook case
  17. Silicone would probably work fine for that small of a screw but I like 3m 5200 "for all your thru-hull applications" Wheres that screw in relation to the water line ?
  18. I’ve always done best with a white buzzbait
  19. We don’t really have the bigs where I live, the 2019 bassmaster classic (when all the big names were still with BASS) and the 2021 BASS elite event only kicked out a small number of fish at 6 lbs or better. If the best in the world can’t get 7 pounders I doubt I’m going to but we do have lots of 3-4 lb smallmouth that can keep you busy this spring I’ve just been catching hundreds and hundreds of white bass with a few other species mixed in
  20. They said it was from all the fish being in live wells that were bouncing through 4 foot waves all day
  21. Hahahahahahahahahah. Yea he bought that without really researching the fuel economy so it’s a truck that basically never gets driven. but yea, the rope broke just like we told him it would. It seems rare for a rope to be stronger than a big oak tree
  22. He tied a rope to it and pulled with a tundra, I’m sure you can guess how that turned out I remember that tournament with the rough water, there was some controversy with all the released fish floating for days .
  23. I’m old so I used to experience this phenomenon. Nowadays I’ve already fished all the rivers and hit all the rocks
  24. So the customer calls and says “you caught 4 possums in that trap!” I’m taking pictures and pick up the trap, one falls out and there’s still 4 in there. So I caught 5 in one trap haha.
