  1. Glad you were able to get out, I can go years and years without getting one as big as 5.7. I hope your dad continues getting better
  2. Large swimbaits, sometimes jointed, that glide back and forth. They are often huge and shaped just like a fish. Not a minnow size like a keeper crappie size. I feel like they started as Muskie baits and evolved into bass lures
  3. my home away from home, gov Ned mcwherter park . Here’s his boat.......
  4. Before spring, I like to mentally prepare myself to watch all the fair weather fishermen launch their boats for the one and only time all year. I’ve been fishing all winter so I can take a break. First warm Saturday of March, Get some ice cold beer into a cooler and a lawn chair and sit in the ramp parking lot until late evening and just laugh and enjoy!! This guy jackknifed, that guy launched his boat and it wouldn’t start and floated 500 yards down river. Oh wait? What’s that red thing under water? But of course! An f250!
  5. You look at it! The only device I know that measures water clarity is a secchi disc. Works from land or boat. Even then you look through the water to use the disc. So I recommend to dip your lure into the water and estimate how far under the surface your lure disappears. Viola, you have about as accurate of an estimate you will ever get or need for water clarity
  6. Yeah I got boxes full of them. Spinnerbaits crankbaits and jerkbaits
  7. I used the grocery bag trick the other day. Worked great
  8. I can send you a pic when I get home from work to see if it’s the right thing. I changed the plug on mine to match the female receptacle that was already in the boat
  9. Dang I'm pretty sure I have one of those plugs I could have given you.
  10. I've vacationed at cape May (my brother and his family are in south Philly). Pretty cool spot.
  11. I call it calendar winter. Same time of year as regular winter but much warmer and more fun
  12. Bill Dance of course! I mean, when a guy is on TV wearing the same hat as everyone you know, and bass fishing??? Sold!!!
  13. Long live winter! (Dodges object hurled at me)....... fish bite really good when it’s cold here. It’s hot enough to sweat through your skivvies before sunrise in midsummer
  14. It could be flooded worse by the time they are scheduled to come back. Lots more rain coming, pretty standard . Chattanooga has been flooded since they built it. Just ask this guy
  15. Fellow member @Jermination invited me out on his skeeter today. I’m glad I went, this guys knows how to catch a bass! First he sees some favorable conditions on the depth finder and says we need to find rip rap. As soon as we find some he catches a fish cranking. I had left all my jig heads at home and he said to try one of his neds. He boated one humpback 18” smallmouth with it also and missed another but I just kept trying other stuff. Then he says “seriously, I would.” After tying it on, Within an hour I caught a largemouth and 3 smallmouth (19” 17” and 15”) on a place he found fish on the graph.
  16. On the worms I rig them weedless like this
  17. Winter fishing might not be for you! Haha
  18. My kill switch got pulled out twice recently and it beeps loudly thank goodness
