New to site
Good gracious! That’s a toad. Welcome to the site, I fish some of your waters but never Tims. I’m upstream in Knoxville but I fish Alabama quite a bit. Did you nab that 7.3 in the winter? I camped below Wilson in March one year with monster smallmouth aspirations and the waves kicked my butt

Another tragedy
From what I understand their boat wouldn’t start so they just fished around above the dam on the TM and got pulled over somehow. I fish below the spillways all the time but I’ve never fished above one. Back in the day everyone tied their boats to the top side of chilhowee dam and fished for trout all night. There are a bunch of buoys around it now that a different company out of Canada bought all those lakes. Pickwick is just such a monstrous amount of fast water, maybe they have tried to put something there before that got swept away

Orlando Florida - Where to begin!?
Bass fishing Florida? Take a bunch of soft plastics and rig them weedless. Trick worms senkos flukes toads and creature baits. I haven’t fished down there extensively but those things always seem to work. I don’t know if there are snakeheads in Orlando but if there are they will eat frogs from what I understand. A few other toothy critters will bite in the Kissimmee chain, pickerel and bowfin

I used to have a couple of those lures!!! I might try to hunt them down, I think one of them may have swolen and broken. One is bright yellow or chartreuse on the back and the other is blue

Hair jig fishing help needed
Can’t help with ice but black ones are always good. Slow steady retrieve without jigging is underrated but if the water is super cold I would leave it laying on the bottom and bump it along

My boss knows I get my work done but he still likes to chit chat until at least 4 haha

Another tragedy
@Glenn, hopefully we will see some of those on the Tennessee River in the future. I’m sure TVA has some BS reason for not having them but that looks like something they could have at least grabbed. I haven’t spent a whole lot of time at Pickwick dam, the only thing I can imagine is maybe there is something in place that was getting pulled under by the current or waves

Another tragedy
There’s a few with buoys on a rope above and below them in the mountains but not TVA dams
-
Another tragedy
You would think they would make it physically impossible for that to happen but now that’s two years in a row
