  1. Probably my biggest bass (or one of them anyway) ate a silver buddy two days after Christmas . 7-8 lb northern strain LMB (just guessing on the weight)
  2. Yea I lost an a rig the second time I threw one. Too rich for my blood, that was about the same price as losing 80-100 plastic worms
  3. @BassNJake, are they eating that walking bait? I haven't been up your way since late June
  4. Also great for working the muskrat/otter/beaver trap line.
  5. Haha! Where you been? Believe it or not a smaller fish was grabbing that same bait, a little smallmouth shaking it like a terrier
  6. i was bringing search baits through weeds last night but this is all it yielded........ big bite baits cane thumper and a sprinker frog. I had a big one on that sprinker frog Monday just after dark but it jumped off
  7. I feel as though aggravated assault may be the logical next step for him but it will have to be tomorrow because he can't go a day without a new story
  8. I wonder what Antonio brown will do tomorrow ......
  9. Every bass I've ever caught over 6 lbs pulls drag. Big ones are strong
  10. I forgot to mention that a lot of guys fishing damiki get them 70-80 feet deep in winter. The water temp is the same top to bottom in the highland reservoirs that time of year.
  11. A lot of old timers swear wd40 is a great fish attractant and it is petroleum
  12. Never caught anything with any of them
  13. Purty!! I have paddled 15+ miles in a day many times but never terribly far from dry land. There's an island 200 yards from my dock and swimming out there and back is exhausting so I use that as somewhat of a rule of thumb, I don't venture out further than I can swim back
  14. I saw it live and in color two weeks ago on Erie, not just a picture. I'm sure people do it, just not me. We had huge waves blasting over the front of a two story ferry full of cars and people. Seems like the storms are pretty bad up that way too, I imagine that it goes from slick to scary pretty quick on some days. I don't even paddle far from shore on my never windy reservoirs at home, I just don't like the idea of capsizing way out in the middle. I also don't sky dive or ride roller coasters so these opinions are coming from a bit of a chicken..... unfortunately people around here drown while kayaking quite often and our waters are tiny by comparison
  15. Sunscreen my friend! Glad you had fun out there 2 miles into lake Michigan in a kayak??? That takes some brass ones! I don't even want to take my 18 ft center console boat onto great lakes after seeing Michigan and Erie in person
  16. I have the ones in the screen shot, good shoes for the price. I've had them 3-4 years and keep them outside and they are still ok
  17. I like 12 but I have used 20 a few times and it's nice to know Mr smallmouth won't steal my spook
  18. It all depends on where and what type of fishing you are doing. I keep braid on one baitcaster and one spinning reel and mono on everything else. When it gets really cold I put flourocarbon on a baitcaster for suspending jerkbaits. Braid is thinner and slicker and casts better but it floats like a cork and is visible and noisy underwater. Mono seems to be good for everything except fishing slop
  19. Pork doesn’t smell good when you clean it either hahaha. You should try the pastrami! Then again I am a fan of “gamey “ flavor but my buddies aren’t so much, and that’s why there prepared it differently this time. I usually just grill it very rare, although I had a buddy slice it really thin and cook it in a skillet on the boat once. Then he put it on a sandwich with greens and eggs, that was also very good. The key seems to be don’t ever cook it long no matter what you do
  20. @Bluebasser86, we have an early goose season from sept 1 to sept 22. My buddies shot two of them while we were fishing and made pastrami out of them. Mmmmm. And nice green fish ya got there!
  21. Sound like you know way more about the situation than I ever will! So I can't help much other than adding that HOAs are beyond silly
  22. We are good at raising champion..... Hounds!!
  23. Gonna need a big shovel! Cool drawing
  24. Whoopdie Doo!! That means more losses for me and I believe Mizzou has to play at least 2 of them ..... Would you root for the raiders and chargers since they are in the broncos division?
  25. We should be a staple in the bottom 25 the rest of the season
