  1. Are you going to volunteer to complete that chore? Haha. A pond where I work had most of the fish die and the grounds crew had to scoop them all out. Most of them puked. Dead fish can not pollute water in any way, especially water that is void of oxygen
  2. What makes bass fishing different than other fishing? Nothing! I mean, you use smaller lures for fish smaller than bass and larger lures for fish larger than bass but fishing is fishing. When fishing for trout you use flies but sometimes you accidentally catch a bass. When you are casting plastic worms for bass sometimes you accidentally catch a bluegill. When you are fishing for tuna you use a big reel. What in the world kind of question is this? Haha
  3. No oxygen, seen it happen many times. It’ll come back
  4. best scale for the money? That depends on how much money you have. I don’t have much so I got a $5 spring scale from wal mart. The thing is surprisingly accurate, I tested it with dumbbell plates . No dead batteries no worry about splashing or rain
  5. Rapalas last me forever and cut up tons of fish. Don’t get too caught up with the sharpest knives, I like mine to be sharp but not razor sharp. You want to cut along bones not through bones
  6. It will work if you play your cards right , keep the drag loose. I’ve caught them up to somewhere around 35 lbs with small baitcasters
  7. There’s a couple members on here from Maine that consistently catch some nice fish! Id like to fish up there one day, I’ve got a good buddy that lives in dexter
  8. Any pro fisherman will tell you that the lure is not nearly as important as location or presentation. Fish what you have confidence in
  9. I’m glad one company had a little forward thinking
  10. @Choporoz makes lots of good points. I use thin wire hooks because they seem to penetrate the fish better
  11. I have to use the push button ignition at work and in my moms car. The common denominator is nobody EVER knows where the keys are, when they should be hanging in the ignition. Or the time I dropped mom off in front of a grocery store and she walked in with the “key fob” in her purse. The car began to panic and I had to sit in the parking lot with it running (and panicking). All because turning a key is so hard. Also, what happens when you are fishing in a downpour or wade fishing and the “key fob” is soaking wet?
  12. A lot of the flies we order at work from umpqua are barbless. Don’t know about bass stuff, the bass flies usually have a meat hook with a big barb
  13. They got rid of Nathan peterman so that’s a step in the right direction!
  14. I always start with the “go to” instead of reaching for it when all else fails
  15. My buddy brings one of those every time he goes fishing. The first time he telescoped it I about fell out of the boat laughing. Pretty awesome, I had just never seen that
  16. If you can get you own shiners and fish the kicker trails you might be able to figure it out yourself
  17. @12poundbass beat me to it. “Oh lawd, shtuck in Lodi ah-gain....”
  18. I was thinking the same thing. They must have consulted Minnesota and California for advice..... the Florida strain/northern hybrid, especially the F1 generation, is nothing but big and fun
  19. They don’t make anything like they used to, my truck is manual transmission locks and windows with a single cab, had to look around for it but Carmax is a wonderful thing. If it’s not a stick shift I won’t own it, and don’t EVEN get me started on a push button ignition. It must be so hard to turn a key.......
  20. First off, I love your choice in fishing reels. Just reading the OP again made me want to cast mine, but alas I’m on a non fishing trip in Ohio...... about to go out into Lake Erie and not fish....... sad face. But back on topic, I ALWAYS bury the hook point in a worm, never texpose. Maybe because I live in the land off current, logs and rocks, I don’t know. There is basically no clean bottom and no vegetation, just a bunch of stuff to get hung on. You may have just had a bad stretch of luck but I would definitely try setting the hook harder to penetrate the plastic and subsequently the fish .
  21. “Trailers??? We don’t need no stinking trailers!!”
  22. I always liked watching luck throw and run but him retiring will be fairly similar to when he was still working
  23. I’ve fished for them a couple times, not really my cup o tea. They seem to be treated like Hindu cows
  24. Never for me. I like to eat fish
  25. Sometimes you can find old topo maps if you look hard enough
