Caught a couple drum today........

My work van is a Chevy piece of crap but the motor seems to be bullet proof (4.3 v6). I drive it harshly and it's pushing 300k miles

Most everywhere I fish drops directly off 20 feet (or a lot more than 20). I like to chuck a Texas rig or jig worm up against the bank and drag it on bottom all the way back. Maybe keep a topwater at the ready for jumping fish and/or late evening bite. When it gets colder I change to tubes and Berkley gulp minnow. You can learn a whole lot by just prospecting around that way, definitely learn where the logjams and ledges are by getting stuck on them

They always swim straight back down, you can see them do it when you release next to the transducer

I fish a lot of cliffs that are 100+ feet deep and catch them letting a lure fall down the face of it. But I don’t know how deep they are when they bite it so I can’t really answer. I would some some are at least 50 ft

I have only fished inland Michigan for one week but a curly tail grub on a jig head and a weedless stick worm with no sinker were best for me. You guys have a lot of weeds in the water up there!

Yeah I don’t know if I could handle that. Cool looking rig, I have just never seen any of that stuff before haha. I’ve definitely never seen those sinkers, I just tie on bullet weights for drop shot (because I already have a million )

Cool picture! I was fishing from a kayak in the ocean one time amongst a bunch of mangroves. I had probably paddled about 2.5-3 miles and a fog like that rolled in. I freaked out a bit and just started paddling toward what I thought was the correct direction. Luckily I was right but I’m no ocean expert and boy was I scared
