  1. I’m the boss of my team, and the company I work for now bought my old company January of this year. My team from my old company either left or went to different areas, so I’m basically the new kid on the block, who’s in charge of this team who some were hoping to get into a management position so it seems there’s a bit of animosity from some of them. Most are good and listen, a few not so much. This past weekend I put out our weekend plan and some just have a hard time following simple instructions. It’s quite interesting being in a management role and having to deal with so many different personalities. I swear I’d have a full head of hair if it weren’t for some of these people. Good times!

  3. When the wife had a midlife crisis this summer and wanted to trade the Terrain in we went to a Kia dealership in Grand Rapids. She found a couple vehicles she liked and we started talking price. I told her what the price was and the salesman said, “that’s not right the price is $5k more.” I was done at that point but continued the game. Took the car for a test drive, with the salesman in the back seat (strike 2). We were only allowed to go around the block (strike 3). By this time I became a “cocky a$$”. These were my wife’s words not mine.? They bring the “GM” out of his layer to sit down and talk with us. By this time I almost have my feet on the desk because the ? is getting too deep! They made us two final offers, “Mr. McConnell we’re not making any money on this, but we need this sale to wrap up the week.” ? After telling them we were going out to eat and we’re going to talk it over, I had to ask two different people where my keys were, we left. I told the Mrs they’d call with a lower offer. Sure enough they called with their final third offer in which we declined. ? After all of that, the wife didn’t think I was being such a cocky a$$. I told her next time she wanted a new vehicle to let me do the talking because they can see her coming a mile away. She’s too much of a sucker and caves to their sales tactics. To be fair, I still have a lot to learn myself.
  4. Greetings!
  5. Yup same here. The one magical lake I fish I have to back the boat down a two track that’s a little wider than my truck is about a “off grid” as we have around here.
  6. If the bamboo pillow wasn’t firm enough then I think your next option would be to go to Home Depot and grab some 2x12 and nail them together. ? My bamboo pillow wasn’t stiff as a board but it wasn’t too far behind.
  7. Had a little free time and stumbled upon this today. These are the tweets shortly after Josh Allen was drafted. @Darren. Hilarious.

Our ‘21 GMC Terrain had no shifter and was all push button. That took some getting used to. My brother in-law had read that all GM vehicles after 2022 or 2023 would have push button transmission. My work truck is a 2022 Colorado and still has a shifter so maybe ‘23 or he read wrong. The keyless push button ignition still gets me from time to time and the honk if you leave the keys in the vehicle drives me up the wall! ?
  9. Most hotels I’ve stayed at over the years I’ve woken up with a stiff neck or sore from head to toe.

  11. My wife’s family has a long history of high BP and cholesterol. She was put on BP meds shortly after having our son. She started exercising and got off the BP meds. Then a couple years ago she was put on cholesterol meds. She changed her diet and started exercising and she’s now on the lowest amount.
  12. I had a bamboo pillow for a few years that I liked most nights. The wife hated hers. We now have down pillows and they are pretty nice! When we went to the UP this summer, the hotel we stayed at had the My Pillow and we were both pretty impressed.
  13. I’d say cruising around the lakes as a kid without a life jacket on was pretty dangerous. It wasn’t until I joined Bassresource and saw a video of a bass boat that broke a steering cable and the two anglers getting ejected I realized how dangerous it really could be. Once I got my G3 everyone has worn one in my boat while the outboard is running. The other one I was probably 12-13 yrs old, I had gotten my boaters license. We were on Bay de noc walleye fishing and decided to call it a day. My stepdad let me drive the boat back to the ramp. We ran into some rough water, I hit a decent sized wave which got my attention, then I saw a huge wave in front of me and the only thing I thought to do was let off the throttle. Yup, I speared the wave! The look on my stepdad’s face I could tell that scared the crap out of him. He explained to me we were pretty lucky I didn’t swamp the boat. Needless to say I didn’t finish the voyage home. We still talk about that one from time to time.
  14. The older I get the less tolerable I am of the cold. My guess is from almost 20 years of working outside. As far as Nov 2, our company is in Chicago but I doubt I can justify a drive down there. Funny story, a few years ago a guy from around here got laid off during the winter. Well he didn’t want to be and talked with the district manager from Florida who said “come on down”. The guy didn’t get it cleaned up here. Three or so weeks pass and during a DM meeting the Florida DM had said the guy was doing awesome down in Florida. Confused our DM looked at the gps and sure enough the guy drove his work truck from Michigan to Florida without anyone knowing. ?
  15. I would’ve said Miller Lite, but well, you know. ?
  16. Sweatpants, sweatshirt, blankets, slippers, chilie, goulash, apple crisp, naps Hibernation is good!
  17. Snow then upper 60’s low 70’s this weekend. ?
  18. I used to slam the hooksets hard when I was fishing a Senko. After I gave that up and started using other lures I changed my ways. Treble hooks: all I could picture was an Eagle flying at me 100mph with it’s talons focused on my jugular! Jigs: all I could think about was a 3/4oz rocket zinging past me at Mach 3 and hitting the wife in the face, hell anywhere and you guys would be spreading my ashes on the shores of Lake Menderchuck (with @A-Jay’s approval of course). Hollow body frogs: I still swing for the fences, they don’t hurt and she’s a trooper if one makes contact with her. ?
  19. That was his incentive to make sure his QB or RB wouldn’t get tackled at the line. ?
  20. Allen threw a TD with just over a minute to go. Mahomes threw an interception with around 51 seconds to go.
  21. Whew! One helluva game that took a few minutes off my life but the Bills came out on top. GO BILLS!
  22. Dude you are a piece of work! ? I may have to watch that again.
  23. @TnRiver46 I just watched a video where the Vols fans put the goal post in the river. Are you going to fish that new structure today? ? I wonder if expulsions will be handed out?
  24. 6-12” of snow for Marquette. Ahhh no thank you! The UP is nice, but man that’s brutal for mid October.
  25. Great to hear Andy! To quote Mr. Iaconelli “NEVER GIVE UP”
