  5. It's just "Veritas" now, I own a 7'3" MH 2.0. It's an amazing jig rod
  6. Stock hooks are plenty sharp, I don't see that being the problem. Could possibly be your setup, a rod with a softer tip could help.
  7. Patience and keep your head up. It'll happen.
  8. Traded for a Fenwick Silverhawk spinning rod here, went to BPS today and picked up the Pflueger President XT 2500. My first spinning outfit in a while but I needed something light for our creek smallies here. This reel is very impressive!
  9. Anyone get their hands on the new Veritas rods yet? Curious as to how they stack up against the 2.0 and other ~$100 sticks.
  10. P-line Flouroclear Copolymer is my favorite inexpensive line, though it's not mono, it does float and has great strength and low memory. I use this on my jig and spinnerbait rods, in 15lb.
  11. No personal experience with any of those, but my uncle uses an SV103 for weightless plastics, that reel bombs them far with ease, I think any SV spool Daiwa would be perfect for this
  12. Never went out specifically targeting rock bass, but i catch plenty of them smallmouth fishing in the creeks here in Ohio, they are fun to catch.
  13. The smallmouth pictured just happens to be pretty ugly, lol!
  14. They do look sweet, the 2000 weighs 5.6oz ?
  15. Hard to tell, I'd guess somewhere around 3 pounds..? Nice fish ?
  16. Booyah Poppin Pad Crasher. I fished almost exclusively in the evening this summer, so I was throwing frogs alot more than anything else. Best fish this summer was 6 1/2
  17. Upload to Imgur app then copy and paste link, congrats on the PB ?
  18. Very rarely, like once a year me and my daughter will target bluegill to take home.
  19. ML spinning rod, 2000-2500 series reel would be my choice
  20. I used a flipping stick for the 130, 7'6" Heavy, extremely stiff rod. Definitely was not ideal, IMO a swimbait rod fits the bill for the 130/190 sizes
  21. Yeah.. I'm on a fishing report page on FB and I've seen atleast 10 people post about hooking themselves with the whopper plopper
