What's Your Favorite Reel Company?
Lews has my favorite reel to date, Tournament MB. But as a whole I like Daiwas lineup the best. I'd choose Daiwa.

Copolymer line
Yep, I use P-Line Fluoroclear. It is a fluorocarbon coated copolymer, floats like mono and has the near invisibility of fluorocarbon. I use it on rods that i throw both bottom contact and topwater baits on. No complaints
-
Is exposing rods to the cold bad for them?
Nope, should be good.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
I was doing good until that Daiwa Type LT frog rod dropped to $89.99. Sigh.

braided line power pro or spiderwire..........
Power Pro hands down. Love that stuff. I've had Spider Wir,. It ended up in the trash before I finished spooling a reel with it.

Reel Setting for Pitching/Flipping
I keep my spool tension the same as if I'm casting, brakes a little lower than if I'm casting, but not completely off. You'll probably get a dozen different opinions, that's the way I do it.

What kind of line would you use
For flipping I'd use 50-65# braid or 20-25# fluro. For the 734 id go with #15 P-line Fluoroclear. It's a flurocarbon coated copolymer, which will give you near invisibility for your underwater presentations and it's a floating line which will be ideal for your topwater as well.

Can you swim
Take the classes. There's no shame in improving a very important skill that could be the difference between life and death one day.

Abu garcia Veritas?
I have a 2.0. 7'3" MH casting to be specific. It's been durable for me in the nearly two years I've owned it. It's been my jig rod and I fish slop and set the hook very hard, no guide or blank issues here. Can't speak for the new ones

Why on earth would anyone spend $400 on a bass rod?
I'm revamping my arsenal over winter. Planning on putting the bigger money (~$300) into my jig rod and round out the lineup with $100-$150 sticks.

Best of youtube
Love LFG and Glenn as well. Been with Jon B since the beginning. Still mostly enjoy his videos but I loved his channel when it was more teaching oriented rather than vlog style. I like AP too.

How many did you catch in 2017?
Notable fish we're a 5 and a 6.5 (my pb) and a lot under 4 lbs. A handful of rock bass and a handful of smallmouth.

Open water presentations that work through the ice
I'm pondering drilling some holes at a local pond tomorrow morning, I am limited on ice gear as far as lures/jigs go. I'm curious if you guys throw any traditional tackle through the ice? I came up with this: Small tube, ned rig, wacky rigged senko, lipless crankbait. Thoughts?

Thanks Volzfan59
Handled them in the store the other day, they are light and feel very nice. I'm gonna get one too.

I heard it here. Don't remember what thread, though.
