Long vs Short Rods?
6'6" is lowest I prefer to go, personally. And that's a jerkbait/topwater rod. 7'3" for jigs/worms. 7' for frogs.

Primarily fish from a boat, kayak, bank, canoe?
Bank mostly. I have a Sun Dolphin Sportsman, but have to rely on my brother and his truck to take it out since I drive a sedan.

What line to put on my new crankin stick?
I like fluoro or coplymer. Usually #12-#15. If your going to be cranking rocks and brush I'd check out Seagar AbrazX. For some added confidence.

Wheres the best place to work????
Entry level jobs in the beverage industry are typically pretty good, depending on your area. (Coke, Pepsi, 7up). I work for Coca Cola here in Ohio. We are union and merchandising positions start at $18.45/hr. Health, life, dental, vision, vacation, 401k, tuition reimbursement, paid and voluntary time off, ect.

They feel very nice. I wouldn't hesitate to get one if I was in the market.

bps cranking stick?
I've always wondered the same until I've held them in the store, they are by no means fast. They have a good parabolic bend, not sure why they label them as fast and extra fast.

What heavy lure combo for freshwater largemouth AND inshore stripers
Irod Gensis II 7'8" JR Swimbait rod comes to mind here. Depending on budget of course, that is a $149.99 rod.

Cousins IM8 or Kistler KLX
Hey all, looking for some input on these two rods. Both models 7'3" MH/F. Going to be used as strictly a Jig/texas rig rod. I'm curious for those that own/have owned both... is the KLX worth the extra $40 over the Cousins? Sensitivity, balance and durability being my main concerns. Thanks! ?

What's your Setup Baseline?
3 casting 1 spinning at the moment. 7'3" MH/F 8.1:1 reel. #15 copolymer My jig and Texas rig outfit. 7' MH/MF 6.8:1 reel. #15 copolymer Mainly spinnerbaits and chatterbaits. This doubles as a do-it-all rod when I'm wading a stream or only feel like carrying one rod along with me, it's far and away my most versatile setup. 7' H/F 7.1:1 reel. #65 braid My heavy cover rod. Frogs, heavy jigs and Texas rigs and punching. 7' M/F spinning. 2500 reel. #15 braid to an #8-10 fluoro or mono leader depending on situation. Wacky rigs, ned rigs and poppers mostly. That's it ATM, in the process of adding a jerkbait/topwater rod which will be a medium/fast casting and a cranking rod which will be a medium/moderate casting.

Horsing/Skiing fish to the boat
Situational for me, if I'm finesse fishing with light line and a spinning rod I play the fish and take my time. In heavy cover situations, especially frog fishing, I have my drag tightened all the way and I ski them across the top of the mats. I caught a 6.5 on a frog this year in some thick mats and had him to the bank in all of about 5 seconds.

New Daiwa IDK what!?
Whatever they replace the Tat CT with has big shoes to fill.

Any other all spinning gear bass fisherman?
I own 1 spinning outfit, it's for ned rigs, wacky rigs and lightweight poppers.. casting for everything else.

Flipping creature baits
I like compact beaver style baits for heavy cover, and any good craw for more sparse targets like laydowns, standing timber, ect. My favorite craws are Christie Craw, Paca Craw, Speed Craw

Christmas Shopping (rod and reel)
Total budget? I've heard good things about the Lightning Shock though I haven't fished one. I do own a Bass Pro Bionic Blade 7' MH/F ($79.99) and I fish all of my moving baits on it, it has a soft tip which I find perfect for spinnerbaits/chatterbaits. I had it paired with a Silvermax at one point and it was a sweet little reaction combo that only ran me $140.

Lew's Tournament Mb
I own the 6.8:1. I use it on a spinnerbait/chatterbait rod but it's going to jerkbait duty shortly. It's a fantastic reel to say the least. Casting distance is great, it's lightweight, and it cast lightweight baits very well, I throw 1/8oz swimbaits with this reel. I also have the similarly priced Daiwa Tatula CT and I prefer the Tournament MB over it.
