  1. and if they are fake you get to keep the lures and you get your money back
  2. What about the 4 amp part? I am worried it won't be enough...will a 4 amp be big enough to fill a drained battery overnight?
  3. Looking for a cheap onboard charger for my Jon boat. will have 2 batteries, 1 for trolling motor and one for electronics and livewell. I was recommended this on and it is an attractive price, but it only has 4 amps per for a total of 8 amps. I know this is not a lot, but I don't usually fish all day everyday. I am planning on setting it up so that the batteries can stay in the boat. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CBTRMZ4/?ref=exp_michaellopez_dp_vv_d
  4. I will consider that. It will save space on the bow too
  5. Building a new boat. In the bow, I will be mounting a 55lb 54" Minn Kota PowerDrive V2 and 2 Garmin 93SV units. These will all be on the little bow plate triangle thing of my 14' Smoker Craft Big Fisherman. The platform I am talking about will look like this: https://www.correllconcepts.com/Boat_Images1/F24_front_section.JPG Because I have yet to start my build, I don't know how big I will make that piece. It will depend on how much space I need. I was thinking of getting ram mounts but they are $110 each, that is too much money at this time. Should I mount them side to side or front and back?
  6. I am now in agreement with everyone who is saying angle not tubing. Might be easier to frame with tubing but the hatches actually fit better with angle. Will I need pop or blind rivets? about how many should I get?Would anyone like to see my blueprints?
  7. Just ordered 4 of those 3700 double deeps for my new boat project, and some bulk sufix 832 ghost to match my new all black drop shot rods. Goes like this: I hate having to retie, Buys two drop shot only rods, I guess I need reel, someone posts about Revo mgx spinning on sale, buys four of the,, gets refunded for two, now I need line, buys line, oooh a deal on the containers I use for soft plastics, buys 4, ooh now I need more plastics, a vicious scale indeed
  8. thank you. will run electronics and live well and bilge off the second battery.
  9. awesome, how do I attach it to my battery? will also have a fish finder and a different trolling motor for use in same/ different boat. want to wire the boat the same way as the tm for my fish finders, whole thing is plug n play
  10. I have been searching around an am unable to find exactly what I am looking for information and product wise. I am looking to mount my mini Kota Powerdrive v2 55lb 54" in the front of my boat (duh) and wire it to the back where my batteries will stay. Problem is, I have two boats and need removable option so I can swap the tm out every so often. Exactly what parts do I need and how do I do it. I get the part where I connect the plug to my motor, but not how I connect the other end to the battery permanently and exactly what gauge wire to buy. https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/trolling-motor-connector-kit-8-gauge
  11. Patagonia r5 gloves
  12. I use two different hooks. If im throwing a longer worm like the Zoom Trick Worm, I use a light wire 1/0 either GAmkatsu EWG or a VMC EWG with three barbs, really like that design. if im throwing smaller finesse baits im using a 4-1/0 Hamamatsu splitshot/frop shot hook.Usually a size 1. Favorite baits are Zoom finesse worm in pumpkin or gooseberry. Strike king dream shot in goose berry or pink or chartreuse. zoom shaker worm is good, leeches, especially the z man ones. I like some tiny Yamamoto worms as well. I have 3 types of weights, ball skinny and teardrop. skinny in weeds ball in rocks and teardrop all around favorite. I use 1/16 through 3/8 prefer tungsten but if im breaking off I use lead. 6 lb floro, saguaro invest leader and 8 lb braid on a 6'10" ml
  13. Want to add a casting deck to my smoker craft big fisherman 14. Have all the framing setup. I was planning on using 1/8, but that will add 150 pounds without any decking or other gear, thats a lot. I was told to use 1/16" but it is like 3x as expensive and I can't find it in store. I can frame the whole deck with 150' of 1.5" x 1/8" for $300, still a lot, but I can make it work if need be. I have attached links below to my blueprints: https://imgur.com/a/Smh1aTR I feel like this is too much weight, I wanted to frame it this way because it maximizes spaces as the 17 gal bins sit right next to each other and each hatch lid has 1.5" on each side for support. planning on using 3/8 or 1/2" plywood. is 3/4" on each side gonna be enough support. im lost here, trying to figure this out long before the build starts
  14. How long is that back deck?
  15. haven't been there since I was little. YouTube some videos I know they are out there. Big carp in the marina, so many that if you fall over you won't get wet. I know there is a flooded town somewhere that family friends used to live in, kinda cool.
  16. went to the show a few years ago, wish I met up with you guys then, might have to sneak up sometime.
  17. how long is the back part of the boat, like from the transom to the edge of the seat, (measurement of the plywood from front to back in the last picture), trying to calculate how much seat room and foot room I need to have. according to my plan, if I have a 7'6" (84") rod locker, and use 42"
  18. planning on using 96 in. x 1 in. Aluminum Flat Angle with x 1/8 in. Thick (https://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-96-in-x-1-in-Aluminum-Flat-Angle-with-x-1-8-in-Thick-802517/204273955) planning on using 1/2in plywood
  19. thanks for the info
  20. I have a 13'6" 1968 sea king and a 14' 1980s Smoker Craft Big fisherman. I modded the sea king the same way I bought it, and am looking to gut the smoker craft and make a full casting deck with more storage. The sea king is shorter and fatter, but not as tall. The smoker craft is longer and deeper. Both are great boats. I have not been out on the water with the smoker craft yet. I fish with my grandfather on occasion and at times he has trouble moving around. I need to know which is more stable from the looks of it. thanks seaking pics of my smoker craft https://www.tinboats.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=45213
  21. What type of aluminum angle did you use? Where did you get it? What thickness of regular plywood did you use? How hard was learning how to rivet? btw, build looks great. You'll have a fish finder and bow mount up front in no time, trust me
  22. Underrated- Berkley Lightning Rod - great cheap rod, good blank and grip and guides for the price. I dislike the reel seat. Abu Garcia Black Max - Great reel for budget anglers. I went backwards. First casting reel was $300, most recent was the Black Max. Am I disappointed in the money I spent, no, but I am blown away by this reel. Probably won't hold up, but for an almost free combo, not bad. Cabela's Arachnid Casting Reel - discontinued Daiwa made for Cabala's reel, upgraded tattle type r. reason you can't find em is because I buy em all. sucks that they don't make them anymore. Shimano Stradic FA - well respected reel, but I love it more than the new ones, love the look and handle and drag sound. Cousin's rods - no longer in business, good components, made in use, great rods overall Falcon rods - imo most underrated company in the industry. not the most flashy company but man they produce some great rods. 13 fishing customer service - warranty is important when buying rods, I have gone through them time and time again. I love their rods, but I rest assured they are safe if they break. Overrated Shimano Curado 70 - just didn't perform to my standards. Good reel? yes. but not worth 200$ buy a tattle sv imo. also the handle cap fell off after one day of use. St croix avid x - stiff rod, not very sensitive or light compared to my cheaper rods. very well built and good components more being durable than it is based on performance Carrot Stix customer service - had a broken rod sent to me, I was upset, contacted customer service, 59$ for a new rod. now im sitting on a brand new broken rod, have to pay another 59$ for a new one, which isn't even in stock for anther couple months, what a joke
  23. love my med mod. I run a 6.3 gear ratio and have gone back and forth between 12 lb mono and 15 lb braid. for what ever reason, I like the light braid. I throw small cranks, jerk baits in a pinch, finesse swim jigs, like pitch and straight reel, seikos under docks, topwater of course, small spinnerbaits, you name it. pretty much any lure thats too small for a 7' mh and too big for a spinning rod imo. hope this helps, can get more specific if you want, just ask
  24. thanks for the help with this, much appreciated. Its why I love this community so much you help me, and then I help others, all trying to get better at fishing. I currently have two older 94sv units, one transducer. Im running it up front, with a jerry rig like setup to an old trolling motor in the back transom. I need to buy another transducer. I am now planning on selling the two units and getting the new 93sv plus units.
  25. Good point friend, one of my focus points for this season is to focus more on technique than do I have the right worm or color, important stuff, but not as important as fishing where the fish are and how they want it presented.
