  1. this comes off as extremely sexist, who cares what other people do as long as they aren't hurting you or anyone else.
  2. we should create a news channel that only displays positive news
  3. only things you truly need to have fun and be comfortable is: tarp axe firesteel pot clothes (optional)
  4. just emailed @fishnkamp he has been able to fish for a while now as he was dealing with some medical stuff. He played a big role in my ability to develop and grow as a young angler.
  5. I have the Therm-A-Rest Neo Air xtherm, the pro lite plus, and the zlite sol, sol goes under one of the others. NeoAir XLite = comfortable, lighter ProLite Plus = durable, slightly warmer, self inflates, more quiet, affordable The NeoAir XLite is more thicker, better suited for side sleepers. The ProLite Plus is more rigid, and does not crinkle. If you're more of a ultralight camper, I recommend the NeoAir XLite. If you are more of a generalist, the ProLite Plus is a good choice. I camp 60 days a year bushcraft style or backpacking style. not sure what kind of use yours will get, but the cables one looks similar to the Coleman pad I give my buddies when they tag along. it is heavier bigger and not as warm. I would get the pro lite plus if I were you and throw a closed cell accordion pad underneath.
  6. what is the difference between blind and pop rivets?
  7. wow, exactly what I need. my research confirms what you say about the grinder, great minds think alike I guess. I was thinking of riveting angle aluminum onto the frame if I can't find a bracket for the bunks, since I will be a master riveter by the time I am done with the build I will look into fixing the bearing as I will be driving the boat many miles on the highway. might check to see how big the tires are. is grinding the rust, self etching primer then spray painting some kind of paint for a matte black finish a good plan? im not sure what type of paint yet. also id like to add bunk guide ons, would you think this is a good idea? I live outside of philly. That would be amazing to work with other people. its why I joined the community in the first place, help others and get help too.
  8. 50lb sufix 832 on one spool and 17 lb mono on the other, have used and caught fish with buzz baits on floro but not recommended

  10. +1 on the fury don't own one but have handled and would argue best rod around 100$ a 7' mh mod fast or fast rod is what you want I prefer floro, some like braid. I like having some stretch in the line 15-17 floro or 30-40 braid reel wise, a fuego ct in 6.3:1 is hard to beat falcon lowrider is a good rod, its what I have and love
  11. the lights didn't work when we drove it home haha. I will definitely be replacing them. I think the winch is from 1973 so im just gonna buy a new one. I am planning on trimming it with a wire brush to remove the rust, then priming and spray painting it. will probably end up winging the bunks and use a 10' pressure treated 2x4 with carpet.
  12. think I can make it 30"
  13. thats what I meant to say, leaves and crust will fly off on the road, but build up when parked helps stop invasive species id assume? I know there are exposed spare tire laws in ma
  14. The boat will be well built and completely waterproof, it can get wet, id rather it not obviously, but the main point of a cover is so that it stays clean for as long as possible. Think it would be fine to trailer without a cover?
  15. wow I need a pair of bibs pretty bad, but im saving my money for my boat project. really tough choice. looks like ill have to keep using my waders without booties as bibs from her on out.
  16. I need to fix my trailer. I have yet to use it other that to get the boat home, where it has sat fir the last two years. It is in god awful shape. The jack doesn't work, the winch doesn't work and it doesn't even have bunks. I understand the first step to fixing the boat up is to remove absolutely everything and get it down to the frame only. Then I remove the rust, not sure how though. What do I need to replace? how do I mount a new bunk on (other trailer is all rollers)? etc. https://imgur.com/a/yctlKg5
  17. the options on both these sights look really good. I like the one @OnthePotomac listed (https://www.nationalboatcovers.com/windstorm-boat-covers/v-hull-fishing-outboard-motor/14'6"--LENGTH--72"--WIDTH.html) because it seems very waterproof and is slightly cheaper than the one @GTN shared. Both look good and I will compare the two more in depth. Thanks for sharing I can see how water could get trapped in between the two layers. The tarp I have is very waterproof if you pull it very tight. I will likely not even use the cover over the winter, and only the tarp. I won't be able to remove the framing like the other boat, but I will be seeing the wood very well with many layers. Cover will be used when trailering in rain, during storms and at night, and when I leave the boat in the water over night. I am planning on trying the two layers and stopping if I run into issues, I will heed your advice and avoid two layers for prolonged time to avoid mildew build up. thanks for all the help
  18. Last boat cover I purchased was not waterproof and it ripped very easily. it was a 600 denier cable's on I paid 75$ for. I want a new cover that can be used trailering, light storage, and on occasion while the boat is in the water. When the boat is in storage I will use a heavy tarp overtop as well. please recommend boat covers for a 14' semi v
  19. thats true I would like to create my own tho
  20. cool product, just way too expensive
  21. ok so what you are saying is that those small holes are next to the transom and fill with glue to give it more grip than there would be with a flat surface correct? I now realized that I probably won't want to lift the transom mounted transducer up because it will mess uo the leveling. I found an informative video on how to do that attached below. I am many months from getting the boat on the water though. I originally wanted a way to protect the transducer if I were to beach the craft. I guess this isn't an option?
  22. I am in the process of shopping for new boat accessories for my upcoming build. In the other boat, I mounted my transducer to an old Minn Kota trolling motor that I took apart. I liked being able to raise the transducer in shallow water and having the keg to protect it as well. In this boat I will be running two Garmin 93sv plus units in the bow and possibly another in the back. I will be using a piece of 1' thick starboard to prevent holes. I would like to glue it with 3m 5200 if possible. I am also looking for a mount to raise the transducer in shallow water when need be. link to products im considering below. https://www.googleadservices.com/pagead/aclk?sa=L&ai=DChcSEwiU4dfIwKznAhUJobMKHaG2DdIYABAMGgJxbg&ohost=www.google.com&cid=CAESQeD2aaup5B0QKeTPwk4kDbJ-FWWF3Ln6Dz4MaV_FMrQp4Vi-SEDYoodjZ_OcQ8RzDU7XSYXZSKJlhMPk0zZo6Aws&sig=AOD64_2sdY96otgEd2wv-RL068mMTTvjtA&ctype=5&q=&ved=2ahUKEwju6s7IwKznAhU0mnIEHTPnCq0Q9aACegQICRBP&adurl= https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07G3JRYPV/?coliid=I1EH1CAU42EDSA&colid=16885SQZ4EJN0&psc=1
