  1. thank I appreciate the help!
  2. it appears the rods are lighter than they are labeled, ex mh ww is more of a standard for m? ever throw swim jigs on the 7'2"
  3. Im getting the weightless worm for a lighter all around, the mod fast 7' mh for spinnerbaits and square bills, and the 7'2" mh swim jig for swim jigs. any experience what else do you use that rod for? im thinking small cranks and seniors and smaller chatter baits, moving baits or plastics basically. reel will be aldy with 20 lb braid
  4. anyone ever use waveinnn? Seems like a well made website, but im still not sure. another forum said good things but im not a member and don't trust what they said like I trust y'all. Good prices but not overwhelmingly low.
  5. the 7'4" h and 7' mh fast are two very different rods. what would you be using lure wise?
  6. how do you like the Winn grips on split grips?
  7. buddy and I broke out the big boat. Caught 14 up shallow at chambers yesterday. Water temps 54* fish were shallow. Didn't catch S*** between two boats, 4 people at marsh creek today. Water temps were 58*
  8. I will barely use the outboard. I fish lots of electric only lakes. boat trailer and motor were $300. I spent the majority of the money on aluminum electronics and carpet and tools.
  9. how feasible is saving to pay up front for your house?
  10. do the shipping companies reimburse you if they break your rod?
  11. what did you do to it? I agree all the way. If only I could finish building it and get on the water!!! I have no intention of ever using a credit card ever. I see so many people who use em and wind up in debt. My grandfather is frugal and had never been in debt. I like the motto if you've got the cash, you can afford it. something like that.
  12. carpet, latches, plywood, onboard charger, foam, etc. overall we've put in at least 3k combined engine used to run but it got beat up due to moisture in the garage. Trailer is ok just rusty
  13. hmmm still not working. I'm trying to purchase a Simms challenger jacket
  14. I have gone fishing a few times a year with my dad or grandpa since I was little. I am now 19 and in college. I caught my first bass going into sophomore year of high school. I quickly became addicted and wanted to learn everything about lures and bass fishing. My dad isn't really into fishing, but will go every once in a while. My grandfather loves it and will go every chance we get. He lives an hour away so its not too often. My uncle lives in Massachusetts and is a professional fisherman. He does saltwater and Great Lakes, but knows a lot about bass. Other than him, I don't really have anyone to teach me and help me learn. Anyways, my grandpa and I bought a 14' boat 3 years ago and we really like it. Its nothing special, has two trolling motors, a seat, platform, and a 9" Garmin. Only issues are lack of storage and being too wobbly for grandpa. I came across a bigger 14' with a 25hp for only $100 a year ago. after a year of sitting there, I decided it was time to fix it up just how I like it, low in the back for grandpa, deck with storage in the front for me. I am a college kid. I spend all my money on fishing and gas. I am absolutely frugal with my money elsewhere. My grandfather and I split costs 50/50. I alone have already invested $2,000 into this boat, and him another $1500. The boat is gonna be awesome, but its becoming a money hole. I haven't even fixed the trailer or the motor yet. I am running out of money. I did spend 800 of those dollars on 2 9" garmins. I am worried that I made a mistake and got way over my head with trying to build the ultimate jon boat to bass boat all by myself with no prior tool experience. My lake house is on a small and shallow electric only lake. big boats would get scratched up on it. Back home, I fish more electric only lakes as well. I never had a big boat or an outboard to get on real big lakes safely. I am starting to think that I should have bought an older bass boat, as I could fish bigger lakes, have more balance, and now that I started a college team, use the boat for that. I am planning on selling the older boat once the new one is up and running, and I would love to have the 14' boat and an older bass boat, but im not sure what I should do.
  15. im not seeing 20% either
  16. im between the mgl and stile ss. Not sure if I want to invest $250 into a reel on a setup I might not use all the time. could put that money towards more deep cranks. am set on the 765 a it is en route
  17. im exchanging a micro for the mf 7' mh for spinnerbaits. gonna pick up the weightless worm and swim jig rods too
  18. what model and how do you like it?
  19. not sure, I have a few deep cranks, but never really throw them. I want a do it ll deep cranking rod.
  20. can the fish see the line when they are in say 20' and visibility is only 6'. I am having trouble figuring this out. I would imagine no, because light doesn't get down that far, but I have no idea.
  21. I was looking at your post from a few months ago before making this one. I was planning on the Engetsu BB at first, but I am not a big fan of the casitas so im leaning more towards the Stile SS. How do you like that setup. I will be using the graphite 765, what do you use your rods for other than deep cranking? hope is the line capacity on the Stile?
  22. I am planning on trying both out at some point. I don't get as much time on the water as I wish, so I am forced to sit here overthinking everything in order to make the most of my time on the water.
  23. Not a lot of deep cranking reel options for a lefty out there in the USDM market. Just bought a Champion XP 765CB Graphite rod for deep cranking. as for reels, I really want a 5:1. Looking at these two reels and can't tell what's different for the life of me. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Shimano-16-Engetsu-100-PG-right-handle-From-Japan/133052779353?epid=1881685185&_trkparms=ispr%3D1&hash=item1efa904b59:g:P8QAAOSw2pJc29TN&enc=AQAEAAACYIQvEcHUrT7nmUC3yY5qbPyaBN1nJEDYW8MyypsJPgXKMrJ5ZnoiL5k7zr%2FQKfBqzfQNkxi8ra9qM1F%2Bn55Fr6eWrfjolqJoNHnOhRro2WNhnA3%2BJsVmYP3UlANmS4yiqyO6Q4Lerq7JdXKy%2FVPNmFvo2%2F%2BVQDdEhzp8MuGCsAf2uk8vSVl1Avmoqp6ORlJCkEhx%2Fr3%2BUa68c6UHIzS0IEVoZJ5EZxpzG7z9ElAORuiA2S9h8D2HD5IrBR5lHIBexH5fwCwArE955NgJ3nRiBUCqBY0CjRoy3ipjsDuICHEVfiFLuBHeXlnRDfl7t1MT2Ew%2BH%2F0BdeHjysC0artBfZZ7nidu6ZNnVirOxjqI828Ve2v5LxX0ofVsmyQLoTOxIralEekrKmvewresjHudj6TwyKGqBMNSHFvTfuNC9g0urreedvVxsb0ngWkJRmcnqNK5yNHkOy%2F3e7dsbMU0Vp5oS7lWx3ErNaZn8Tf9jA4soLDkT%2FlIeUm3YDvzjsdOdb%2B7reKwWqgaNh7nPDVITjLCSOkzn8f4a%2BEK2cTPWCM2g7FosdrxP14LA8CoEb7Wf4mVWa0zgIESvqxTHhbfeGRu9HOBHOv6xSKG3IkjR0ld%2FZB7ALrI47X76rfEuZEAEXVBTPnwjJQxS6ghodt5OwbluFWYtSCSZsZYbPmZIXz4NEn5LaKYbLt7jdy%2BCp%2FVnHcOO7c5CKXd7M8fLm42GuLuLAlOZDjZXznc4SDN4PuVls8RmIAJAOe4O1TjXdHaJpLnOIXUBYEii6Rt7PPBkkV9rkIZsJrJUaWuwUUckg5p&checksum=133052779353dc564d0a966349cc95c0cd2df92d0a85 https://www.ebay.com/itm/Shimano-Stile-SS-151-HG-From-Japan/133052709496?epid=915567773&_trkparms=ispr%3D1&hash=item1efa8f3a78:g:uBQAAOSwJ3dc27xA&enc=AQAEAAACYIQvEcHUrT7nmUC3yY5qbPyaBN1nJEDYW8MyypsJPgXKMrJ5ZnoiL5k7zr%2FQKfBqzVD6gF4swoEmFlshTk%2B23AbTjJwt37EPCXZiF%2Bgy36BuZX8zz%2FyK4UCwYm2oEK6WmIu4hLr2LdRY8paCQ%2F7DwOZFeMkbkF9qDU6PVAP6lUh%2BN2o9eTjpN2cnT6fzf7Bgd7HdFJJt%2FF8%2FFouHG%2F4jzx3xcGoz29yBSQA%2BazQYHxsf6jyLg4G%2F49JtAbwotSpeSCwnuaaUdO6N9PqObqqLJZuURwQy64sFpgwUVMKKqDz6EOI97MQPZWPaxKZaLvsXQsp0zz7D158d8PnAx8L2ydzFbRTfAq8qBO%2BjTuluvDpwlarhGAHewNJfFIu%2Fs6%2BAv6Q3DBEiq7L82JTqFW2WFYQRD5IOGJU79AM1wwSN%2BgigL6AgCF9kH8StN3jKgHgNL8DemHQVpRtXK5z8cCeg7taA6YvXmJj3WyEet5BLSZ%2FiMa3L6dq2ibWDH7KbYG6%2Bgs4M0yGUXb1oKbF10OBBj9u8L6ir%2BWrmC%2F6g7WIvQsIxLbRq98A1lxkt%2FoC%2FrsfIvUjCqspRFH%2F8cScAtUhATOLuc42mDZix3QMwk%2FKE9ckyaIXo0%2Bc%2FK11N3d%2BBG5eQ0OpXiA6iS9nY0TYLmPBSMdW%2BDHdoBJ4P9GDePg5uFNxC%2BpDlNyH%2ByR8y6DbIgdeLXc8cT8JbZY3ece%2BCGlIyxj3Ccf%2FyzqOeEgEc0hEkWwTKcTgXh1DnVhydG%2BGFhUkJberazRMkb24SeVrkNon1vgQKRHTnxM1cVz5pip2rmFji&checksum=133052709496e185a8f06528423a9c9a6a884ebe983f
