  1. You should also think about the MBR 843 or 844. They are really great jig rods. Unless you need the longer rod.
  2. I find they cast best without too strong of a cast. They cast most consistently with moderate power, and a smooth even motion.
  3. Any Zoom bait you get will be great
  4. Excellent jigs! Unique colors and skirt material too. I'm also big fan on Bitsy Flip jigs. I wire tie the skirts on, and use them until they fall off then put my own skirt on them. I have never had one issue with them. Perfectly angled weed guard , super sharp hooks, and well designed head.
  5. I don't have any issues with any of these things. I use 20-40lb on casting rigs, and 8 and 10lb on spinning rigs. Backlashes are easier to get out with braid. Remember a couple of kinks from a backlash using straight FC will ruin that spool of line quick. I don't hear any annoying sound when using braid. Unless you are using a cheap rod from decades ago, your guides will be fine with braid. Takes me a minute to tie leader knots. I use braid to leader, and straight braid all the time with out any issues. I 100 percent agree, I feel bites on slack braid all the time.

  7. You are the ultimate reel tweaker.
  8. Where does it state that the gears are aluminum ? I don't see it on the Shimano site.
  9. My old Curado 70 (silver one) got geary after about 2 months. Never figured it out.
  10. MBR rods are the best all round rods I've ever used. The 2 power MBR is good for all that you described. 1/4oz spinnerbaits and cranks will be good for sure. I would say 12lb too, like the rest of the comments. I've had two 2 power MBR casting rods, an older IMX, and an IMX-Pro. In my opinion I wouldn't use them for anything needing a hard hook set. The 3 power makes an excellent bottom jig/t-rig rod.
  11. Get whichever 3 power G Loomis MBR version you can afford. Great with almost everything: Jigs, T rigs, top water, spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, and swimbaits (belly hook).
  12. I'm going to go with it's photoshopped.
  13. Does anyone have an article about how wind affects fall bass fishing?
  14. For a while Asian Portal had them up on their site for $278. They are now around $300

  16. 5” Cabelas’s swim minnow swimbait. Baitfish or bluegill color. Cut about 3/4” off the head.

  18. Tatula 7'1" ML rod is so killer. It's not a super top their rod in price, but it is so good. Perfect for what you want to use it for.
  19. These are great walking baits that not too many people use these days. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Rebel_Jumpin_Minnow_Topwater_Walking_Bait/descpage-RJM.html
  20. I tie pike leaders with 30-50lb FC, and found a three turn clinch knot to be the best. The line is thick, and reacts well, and has never slipped. Just wet it well, and tighten it well too.
  21. Not having to replace your main line for 3 years is a negative?
  22. I love tying leaders! I use braid to leaders 95% of the time. Everything but my bfs set ups. I’m just here to balance out the leader complaining.
