  1. Zoom and also the Super Speed Craw
  2. I had the same thing happen to two 7 speed Curado 70 MGL reels. I regularly cleaned and greased them, changed the bearings, but didn't want to dump more money into them buying gears, so I sold them. BUT, for 1.5 seasons they were very smooth and great casting reels. After that I didn't like the way they felt. When new they were fantastic feeling. I have since moved on to Metanium 150, and I am hoping it doesn't happen to them.
  3. How did all of this happen? I’ve been fishing extra fast JWR rods, braid to FC, and almost never lose a jig fish, and never almost broke my wrists or a rod. What were you up to on your hook sets?
  4. Same thing happened to 3 of my Curado 70 MGL. Sold them all. My Alphas 800 doesn't cast as far, but is a better reel as far as I'm concerned.
  5. T Mac in Texas Craw has been my best cleaner water color
  6. Update: two trips out frogging with this reel, and the bearings quieted down about 70%. the reels back to its normal excellence.
  7. Try some neko weights in the belly. Experiment with weights until it balances
  8. I only fish Daiwa and Shimano
  9. It belongs to a friend of a friend of mine.
  10. I have no idea. I'm a newbie to this stuff
  11. So this reel in the photo was sold like this with all the mods done? I looked up zpi and saw the handles were selling for $175. That’s crazy
  12. Does anyone have info on this reel?
  13. Jelly Worm and T-Mac
  14. It's a standard reel nut of 10mm outside dia, and 8mm thread. You can order from Daiwa.
  15. I only use a 3 1/4" swimbait, kind of like a Keitech fat impact. The mini max is my favorite new bait this year. I've been catching lots of bass and pike with them. I've only tried the 1/4 and 3/8oz versions, and the trailer has been perfect.
  16. Boss 3/8 and 1/2oz Dock Knocker with zoom chunk.
  17. Hello I had a bearing go bad on my MGL 150, so I ordered a pair of ceramic/steel hybrid bearings. They are smooth, but are noisy. I can hear them well even when I just retrieving baits, and pretty loud when casting. I have read that this is normal. A drop of oil in each quieted them down a little. Also, there isn't a slot for the small rubber seal to fit so I just left it off. Could this be adding to the noise. Not keeping them in perfect position? Thanks!
  18. Jelly Worm hula Popper Mepp’s Aglia and my favorite, Rebel 3.5” jointed minnow. On a recent trip I was catching tons of fish on a gold one. Catches Lmb and smb equally as well, and pike hit them as well.
  19. Would it be possible to not write from your own perspective? Wouldn’t that be the exact reason you would want to read it?
  20. If you end up wanting a Phenix 7'1" light I have one I might want to sell. PM me.
  21. I do the exact same thing with 30lb Blue Label. I landed on the three wrap clinch knot, pulling tight with a pliers holding the swivel and the snap. Never had one come undone.
  22. Hello I'm waiting for a spool bearing set to come in. I noticed there is a seal. a very thin "O" ring. Any advice as to the best way to remove them? Worried about breaking it. thx
  23. I have two of both JDM versions. Neither is better than the other. Both are excellent reels without any bad points for me. I prefer the Zillion for skipping.
