  1. I've been throwing S Waver 168, 7" Keitech with 1/4oz beast hooks, and frogging on my Champion 705 for a season and half, and it's been really great. No issues, no lost fish, and the rod works well with these baits for me.
  2. I have an excellent hookup ratio with G-Lock hooks. Never had an issue with them.
  3. I regularly use FG knots with 8lb braid to 6 and 8lb FC without issue. Maybe you are not pulling tight enough? That thin braid cuts like a knife. I use these to protect my fingers for the real thin braid: https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/search-tackle.html?start=0&count=30&searchtext=finger+saver I don't do anything extra to finish the knot. Just three half hitches
  4. I used a bait casting rig for drop shots and Ned rigs quite a bit last season. Phenix Feather ML rod and 8lb FC. it worked fantastic.
  5. ororo vets are great. It totally changes being on the water when you get cold. All you do is turn it on, and you can stay out fishing. I've used it for years. https://www.ororowear.com/collections/heated-vest
  6. Best hook ups with these two: mthe already mentioned bitsy flip, and this one: https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Jewel_Baits_Pro_Spider_Jig_2pk/descpage-JBPSJ.html
  7. I think that's why ned rigs do so well. It looks like a small craw with the claws missing.
  8. GLX 783c with a Tatula 103 7 speed
  9. The Boss Dock Knocker is my all time favorite all around jig head.
  10. I have one JDM 8 speed, and one USA market version 7 speed. They feel the same to me, cast the same too. I caught lots of fish with both, and they are excellent. Great smooth casting, super solid reels. I have zero issues with both, and would buy more if I needed any more reels for sure.
  11. I’m definitely not a crankbait guy, but I regularly use husky jerks, original rapalas, and shad raps with original hooks and I only replace them when they need it. I’ve caught 100s of fish on them.
  12. They come with VMC hooks. I wouldn't call those crap
  13. Great info. The one you pictured is the exact leader I bought. I'll take your advice. Thanks!
  14. Hi A-Jay I just got some, and was wondering how you tie it? Ever use a crimp? I'm thinking of tying a swivel to one end, and either tying it to a bait or a snap. Any advise will help. I read that it frays after being cut.
  15. I upgraded a bunch of reels this year, and I have no need for any rods or reels now. More importantly, I really don't want anything new now. Unless I get a fly setup next season.
  16. Get which ever Loomis 3 power MBR or JWR series rod you can afford. They will be perfect for what you want. I prefer 843 which is the 7’ MBR, or the 853 which is the 7’1” JWR.
  17. I’d get a 843c MBR in the best Loomis line you can afford. It will handle most baits in it’s weight range excellently. the 852JWR is one of my all time favorite rods, you will love it
  18. Try 10lb braid, you will love it.
  19. Can’t go wrong with an mbr 4 power rod
  20. I have the USA Zodias 6'9" ML. Not sure if the JDM Zodias rods are different rods. It's a very nice feeling rod, but it feels more like a medium to me. For me it's a little heavy for Neds and drop shot. It has a pretty similar power to my Tatula medium rod.
