  2. I bought three JDM Metanium reels from Asian Portal. They go in and out of stock. They had the best price I found, and ship it super fast.
  3. #1-Expride 7' light + and Stradic FK 1000 8lb PP to 8lb FC #2-Phenix ML Feather and Tatula with BFS spool straight 8 or 10lb FC #3-Kuying 6'6" light and Tatula LT 2000 8lb PP to 6 or 8lb FC
  4. Is that the rod the OP is using? He didn't specify. If it's a standard medium power it would be too heavy for what he is expecting.
  5. That's an unbalanced rig right there. Medium is way too heavy. That would be your biggest issue.
  6. Coppertreuse and pink are both great colors.
  7. 852c is a metanium mgl, 853 is a Tatula sv tw
  8. Obvious stuff is jigs and worms, but they are also excellent for belly weighted swimbaits/underspins, swim jigs, weightless senko, and spinnerbaits. Try what ever you like with it. I have two of those rods. My favorite use is 3/8 jig with paca craw trailer, 1/4/3/8 t rig creature bait, swim jigs....but it can do lots of stuff. Just try it out. That and the 852c JWR are two of my all time faves.
  9. F7, F9, F11 are excellent baits. I fish the smaller two on a light power rod- 6lb line, and the F11 on a med light power rod (Tatula 7'1" ML is my favorite) on 8lb line. I have caught so many 17"-19" smallmouth on the F7 in streams.
  10. G Loomis has the IMX-Pro 6' classic casting rods available. I have an older IMX version, and it's excellent.
  11. What do you mean by twist? I don't really understand your question.
  12. I don't think that's what he was getting at.
  13. Those baits are smallmouth catchers.
  14. Are you not impressed with the action, sensitivity, and blank.....or that sloppy butt? I haven't even seen one yet. Did you fish one?
  15. McCoy's has the least amount of memory I have seen. It's fantastic line. Never as a mainline though. Only as a leader.
  16. I have two 852 JWR rods that are incredible for t-rigs, and 3/16 and 1/4oz jigs. I was really wondering about the 2 power MBR rods.
  17. It has the butt for hook sets with swim jigs? t-rigged Menace?
  18. It's the only MBR rod I don't own. How are you using yours?
  19. I used to fish them a lot. They are a little clunky, and rough, but man do they cast great. Cool looking reels.
  20. Still manufactured, for the last many years they have been made in Thailand.
  21. I’m with you. I greatly dislike micro guides. I can tie perfect FG knots, just don’t like anything about micros.
  22. The 843 is great for jigs/T rigs and other baits up to 3/8oz or 1/2oz, over that the 844 would be my choice.
  23. Better than any other rod with modern guides? I wonder why?
  24. Have you been into the light plus rod? Did you ever try another reel on it?
